There are many people in the world who need an extra hand in support and assistance to live their best lives. This may be due to a health condition, disability, age or other circumstances. These set of people are in utmost requirements of a support; practically, physically and emotionally. This can be a very appreciative experience but it always comes with the possession of qualities to take up caregiving and also team support to enable good results. In my article today, I'll be discussing on the concept of The Role Of The Caregiver based on health in the fourth week of the Steemit Engagement Challenge SEC season 13.... Join me!

Over the years I've been practicing the job of a caregiver around the lives of my family members as well as friends also. At about 3 years ago my grandfather was in with a heart disease which make him incapable of doing the basic and major things you could do by himself such as bathing eating walking and even using the restroom. At least I was opportune to take care of him at that time where he needed support most in life to thrive for survival. I helped him by preparing meals for him which was free of certain elements due to their health condition which makes it sometime frustrating while preparing the meal then forgetting not to add the excluded elements. Are you so help him by aiding him to walk out and in the house. It was really not easy time back them. Eventually he became at least stable for some time and later passed on.. I also took care of my Grandmother and my biological mother at some instances where she was visibly weak from doing major chores at home when going down to seen-minor diseases like malaria and typhoid...

The Truth is that during these times it can be very challenging because one have to do accordingly due to their limitations...

Simply, team effort is needed in the act of caregiving because it allows for the multiple share of load to people. Caregiving can be demanding both physically and emotionally so therefore making it happen by including a team will provide good result and create a difference.

Although in some cases of health challenges or conditions for example a common cold, headache or any minor disease may not actually need the introduction of team. Even it the illness is not a big one, a little support can help a long way to assist in that situation.

In every situation, Team Effort is VALUABLE

In any profession (as caregiving is a profession) qualities are needed from the professional to be sure of good pour out of responsibility and duty. A caregiver should have many qualities but the most important and crucial ones are patience, love, empathy, compassion, organization, tolerance and a good communication skill..
When all these qualities are eventually present in the caregiver, then the work becomes a walk-over...

If I am to give a piece of advice to any individual carrying out this role of a caregiver, it would be to remember to take care of themselves too. Caregivers oftentimes put the needs of the people they care for first before theirs which can lead to burn out or being too stressed. It is essential and critical to carve out time for self-care either be it walking, going to the gym or a few minutes of relaxation. A little act of self-care can go a long way...
