I am @hudamalik20 from Pakistan. How are you all ?. I hope you all are well and doing great in your life .Today I am participating in this Contest: Leaving no room for Malaria organized by @sahmie in Healthy Steem Community. So let's start.
How do people get Malaria, mention 5 things we can do to stop it?
In my country, Pakistan, thousands of people suffer from malaria every year. And the most important reason for this is the large number of mosquitoes present here, the bites of which spread malaria and make people sick.People are in a lot of pain due to this disease and its symptoms are also very severe. Some people even die due to this disease.
Since malaria is spread by mosquitoes, we should make effort to avoid as many mosquitoes as possible by using mosquito nets and mosquito repellent lotions to prevent that particular mosquito from biting us as also we use mosquito net and lotion.
Mosquitoes breed and lay their eggs in places where water has been standing for a long time or for several days soo. Therefore, we should ensure that no water is left standing anywhere. If there is any place in your home where you store water, make sure to keep it fully covered.
Malaria can prove to be a life threatening disease for us, which is why timely diagnosis is crucial. Many people who fall into malaria initially mistake it for a common fever. However, later they realize they have contracted malaria. Due to this delay in understanding, they often become quite ill, and sadly, many of these individuals pass away. Hence, it is extremely important to diagnose malaria as soon as possible.
How does Malaria affect communities, and what can we do to fight it?
Mosquitoes primarily lay their eggs in places where they find stagnant water, whether dirty or clean, that has been standing for a long time as in our streets ,home and also garden. Mosquitoes breed in such water an increase in their population.
As more mosquitoes spread in a community, the risk of malaria transmission increases. Many people fall victim to malaria due to the growing mosquito population, and often, they do not take necessary preventive measures, which leads to illness.
In some developing countries like our , people are not properly informed about preventive measures, and those who contract malaria do not receive adequate treatment. As a result, the disease spreads among many people. However, individuals can take several preventive measures on their own.
The most important precaution is to keep the environment clean and ensure that no stagnant water, whether dirty or clean, is left standing. This prevents mosquitoes from breeding and laying eggs. The cleaner the environment, the lower the risk of mosquito proliferation and, consequently, malaria.
Regularly spraying mosquito repellent in and around your home is essential to prevent mosquitoes from breeding and spreading malaria.
Give some signs of Malaria, and why is it important to find it early?
The most important symptom of malaria is a high fever. Additionally, symptoms include headache, sore throat, joint pain, anemia, fatigue, sweating, and abdominal pain.
Why are mosquitoes linked to Malaria, and how can we control them to stop the disease?
Malaria is caused by the bite of an infected mosquito. When a female Anopheles mosquito bites a human usss, it transfers the Plasmodium parasite into the human body. This parasite causes malaria within 10 to 15 days.
There are many ways to reduce mosquitoes in your surroundings, such as keeping the environment clean. However, if you travel to an area with a high mosquito presence, you should take preventive measures. Use mosquito nets and mosquito repellent lotions.
So if you plan to spend a significant amount of time there, regularly spray insecticides in and around your environment to prevent mosquito breeding and reduce the spread of malaria.
How has treating and preventing Malaria changed, and what problems are we still facing in getting rid of it?
The treatment and prevention of malaria have improved a lot. In the past, people used herbal remedies, but now we use modern medical technology and medicines. Malaria can be easily detected through blood tests and machines. Treatment includes injections and medicines that work quickly, but they are a bit expensive.
Unfortunately, in many parts of our country, these medicines are not available, and poor people find it hard to afford the treatment. The government should provide these medicines for free in hospitals so that everyone can get rid of this disease.
That's it from today's blog I hope you will like it. With best wishes ❤️. Now I like to invite @tammanna, @sualeha and @drhira to participate in this amazing contest.
