What is Dengue?

Dango fever is basically a viral infection which is caused by the Dango virus. The virus gets into the humans through a mosquito called Adis.

What are the three symptoms of Dengue explain it.

There are basically three stages

The first one is dingo without any warning signs, the second is dingo with warning signs, the third one is dangu with other organs affected. Now coming to the first stage that is without any warning signs this is something like a simple Dango fever that is patient starts off with fever. The fever generally lasts for around 3 to 4 days. After 4 days the patient significantly starts to improve. In such patients the platelet count never goes below 50,000 and they might have a rash, they might have a slight decrease in their WBC count. However they recover very soon.

Now coming to the second stage that is dingo with warning signs here what happens is even after day three the patient continues to have a fever and the platelets drops significantly. Here what happens is the platelets drop below 50,000 and there's a significant drop in WBC also and patients can also have something called capillary leakage. Capillary leakage means whatever fluid is there within our blood vessels it goes out now. Because the fluid is going out of the blood vessels the BP tends to fall because there's no fluid within the blood vessels so patients can have low BP. They can because the platelets are significantly falling they can have other bleeding manifestations like they can have bleeding into their bubbles. They can have blackish tools they can have bleeding from their mouth and all that so this is seen in Dango with warning signs.

Now coming to the third type that is dango with organ system manifestations here what happens is in addition to the above that are significant fallen platelets, fall in BP other organs are affected that is your liver can get affected which can result in jaundice, your heart can also get affected so basically these are critically ill patients and they need close monitoring in the hospital setting.

How does Dengue affect our lives?

It depends on the stage again like I said without warning signs the patient has a very good recovery. However warning signs with organs and organ system manifestations, it can be life-threatening because patients can have a significant drop in BP and because other organs are getting affected also yes it can definitely be life-threatening if not treated.

How to prevent Dengue?

So because dengue is spread by mosquitoes in any area which is prone to this breeding of mosquitoes like stagnant water or when there's an open drain or any place where there's excessive breeding of mosquitoes the Dango fever is predominantly seen.

It is spread by mosquitoes what we can do is we have to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. So you can use mosquito repellents or something to cover ourselves like wearing full sleeved clothes, keep the water clean avoid stagnation of water and even communities you can do spraying to kill the mosquitoes. So these are basically the general preventive.
