As Massage Therapists they get to work with bodies of every size shape and gender. From stretch marks to dry skin or scars from surgery anything you may be self concious about should never stop you from getting a massage.

YOU ARE THE BOSS

During a massage your body belongs to you. Consent is an important part of massage therapy and your therapist is there to listen to your needs and to respect your boundries. Communication is key to a successful treatment plan and will enable your therapist to deliver the best massage possible.

The 5 techniques of a Swedish massage

  1. The effleurage

The effleurage is the most used technique. It's a smooth, sliding movement towards the heart, tracing the contours of the body using the palms of the hands.

  1. Kneading

This technique is similar to kneading dough. It consists of lifting, rolling and pressing the flesh. under or between the hands.

  1. Friction

Friction strokes exert pressure by placing the weight of one's body on the flat of the hand and the pads of the thumbs, knuckles, fingers or the back of the forearms, then release

  1. Tapping

Tapping, or percussion, is a fast, jerky rhythmic movement that has a stimulating or invigorating effect.

  1. Vibration

To perform the vibration, the massage therapist shake or shake gently the flesh with the hand or t fingertips, and pass to another place and repeat this movement.

Excelente Publicación. Gracias por tus consejos en hacernos saber sobre los beneficios de los Masajes, muchas personas no sabemos todo lo que podemos mejorar en nuestra Salud, a través de la Terapia de los masajes.

Y digo con propiedad, porque a veces tenemos las herramientas en nuestras manos y no las aprovechamos. Yo trabajo en un Centro de Salud y allí tenemos el área de Fisioterapia, y nunca fui a darme una Terapia...sino hasta hace un mes que me dio una parálisis facial, y bueno me tocó ir con el Equipo Multidisciplinario, actualmente me he mejorado mucho gracias a las terapias.

La Recomendación es aprender más, aplicarlas, ponerlas en práctica para Mejorar nuestro cuerpo, nuestra salud.
