Greetings my dear friends of Steemit and Healthy Steem

How much adequate amount of sleep is beneficial for good health.

Sleep is essential for our overall well-being and lack of sleep can have negative effects on our health. One of the most well-known benefits of sleep is its ability to improve cognitive function. Sleep helps to consolidate memories and improve learning and problem solving skills during sleep. The brain processes and organizes information from the day and this process is crucial for memory and learning.

For example you can try a sleep hygiene routine where you establish regular sleep and wake times avoid screens for at least an hour before bed and avoid caffeine nicotine and alcohol before bed having a consistent schedule and environment can help to regulate your body's internal clock and signal to your brain that it's time to sleep sleep also helps to improve physical health. Adequate sleep can help to reduce the risk of obesity diabetes and heart disease. Eight hours sleep in night is considered as adequate sleep.

Problems that may cause by lack of sleep.

Lack of sleep can cause cognitive impairment difficulty focusing and poor decision making Studies have shown that people who get less than seven hours of sleep per night have a higher risk of cognitive decline and dementia.

Research has shown that lack of sleep is associated with an increased risk of depression and anxiety this is because lack of sleep and disrupt hormones that regulate mood and can also affect the brain's ability to regulate emotions.

Problems that may cause by excess of sleep.

Things that can cause people to sleep too much can be depression. Sometimes it has to do with the thyroid is a really big culprit of that as well. When your thyroid levels are low, everything slows down, so you sleep more; you're more tired.

Being sick you need more rest. When you have even just a common cold that can cause you to sleep more.

If it's more of a chronic issue, though, a lot of times it can do with the thyroid, depression, and then different hormones as well. Testosterone is another big one in there.
