What do you know about kidney disease?
Kidney disease is a disease that occurs when our kidneys are damaged and cannot help to filter blood properly. Kidney disease can lead to fluid buildup, accumulation of waste, and imbalances in materials that are so essential. Kidney disease are of two types and we have the following: Chronic Kidney Disease and Acute Kidney Disease.
Have you or someone you know ever experienced kidney-related issues?
I have not experienced kidney failure in my life but I have heard of people who have experienced kidney-related issues which they spent a lot of money in treating themselves. The major causes and risk factors associated with kidney-related issues are; heart disease, family history and genetic factors, obesity, smoking or taking excess alcohol, and long-term use of certain medications.
Based on what I have learned about kidney failure, I have personally understood how serious and life-changing kidney-related issues can be.
How can we prevent and manage kidney disease?
We can prevent and manage kidney disease by doing the following to stay healthy.
- By maintaining our healthy blood pressure and sugar level
- By doing exercises regularly
- By avoiding smoking and taking of excess alcoholic drinks
- By using medications cautiously
- By eating a balanced diet.
We can manage kidney disease by following a friendly diet when eating, and also regular check-ups and lab tests can help us to manage kidney disease.
