Temporary Teeth And Care

We were all little children before growing into adults, and I'm pretty sure we all experienced the falling off of our teeth when we were little. At times when this happens, it always scares some of us, especially the first time. This usually happens on different occasions, such as when we are eating or chewing meat and others, but some can happen even without this.

In today's Temporary Teeth Contest, which was organized by @helengutier2, I'll be explaining to you the process of a temporary teeth eruption, The importance of avoiding early tooth extraction, the experience I had with my temporary teeth, and how to care for temporary teeth. I hope you will learn a lot from this contest; now, let's start with the temporary teeth eruption.

THE AGE

The temporary teeth can also be called the primary tooth or Milky tooth. This type of tooth typically starts erupting "between 6 months of age to 1 year, and this process is called "teething." But in most cases, the timing of teething isn't always the same for every child due to some factors such as genetics and nutrition; oral health can also affect the process of teething.

These temporary or Milky teeth consist of 20 teeth in total, and they are classified into three main types. Here's how they go.

  • The Incisors
    The Incisor is made up of 8 teeth in numbers;
    2 On the top front teeth
    2 on either side of the upper central Incisors
    2 on the bottom front teeth and
    2 on either side of the lower Incisors.

  • Canines
    The canine is made up of 4 teeth in numbers;
    2 pointed teeth on either side of the upper lateral Incisor and
    2 pointed teeth on either side of the lower lateral Incisor.

  • The Molar
    The Molar teeth are made up of 8 teeth in number;
    2 back teeth on either side of the upper canine
    2 teeth behind the upper first molar
    2 back teeth on either side of the lower canine and
    2 teeth behind the lower first molar.

What Is The Importance Of Keeping Temporary Teeth In The Mouth And Avoiding Early Teeth Extraction

If a child has an early extraction of teeth, there might be a space loss, which can lead to overcrowding of the teeth;
Also, without the premature teeth as a guide, the permanent teeth might end up erupting in an incorrect position, and they can become impacted. So, a child needs to keep temporary teeth as this would help the eruption of the permanent teeth in a good position.

Also, keeping temporary teeth can aid the child in chewing and digesting food, which can ensure proper nutrition. Also in Speech development, since the child would be making an effort to speak, these temporary teeth can help them form a word and sound correctly.

Tell Me About Your Experience With Your Temporary Teeth

My experience with my temporary teeth was normal and beautiful. Talking about going to a dentist to extract my teeth? I don't even see a dentist for my teeth health before, talking less about going there for my temporary teeth extraction. Where I stay, I don't think people usually go to a dentist for their temporary teeth extraction.

As for my case, I can't remember the age my temporary teeth started falling out, but I had an experience with it. Different things always make my temporary teeth fall out, such as falling when I was playing, at most times I always fall when playing and as a result of that I might hit my mouth which will make my temporary teeth start shaking then in a few days the fall out.

On different occasions, my temporary teeth always fall out when I'm chewing something that seems hard, like meat or corn, because of the pressure on it. Sometimes, I feel pain when my teeth fall out, especially when it happens as a result of falling from a rough play. But also, my temporary teeth sometimes Fall out just on their own; I have never visited a dentist for my temporary teeth extraction.

How To Care For Temporary Teeth
IMG_1699~2.jpegIMG_1703~2.jpeg

Most mothers think that there's no need to take care of milky or temporary teeth since they are going to fall out sooner, but it is important to ensure the child's good health. This can be done by brushing the child's teeth, but when doing this, endeavor to use soft bristles and a smaller head brush to do so. Also use a toothpaste that is designed for children, with a mild flavor and texture.

You can also stop the child from consuming sugary and acidic food such as soda, candy, etc., and provide a well-balanced diet rich in fruit, vegetables, and whole grains. Also, limit sticky food like honey and dried fruit, which can cling to teeth and cause decay.

Also, a regular checkup is necessary; after the first teeth eruption, it's advisable to take the child to the dentist every 6 months for a checkup. Also, help the child stop the habit of teeth grinding and clenching, which can damage their temporary teeth; by following these few steps, you can take care of your child's temporary teeth and keep them healthy.

Thanks, ma'am for dropping by, I really appreciate your beautiful reply
