It's my pleasure being a member of the this community, In my today's post I am posting our traditional dish here in Nigeria, it called Ekpang you can call it cocoyam porridge this meal is a traditional Nigerian dish that is popular among the Efik and Ibibio tribes in the southern part of Nigeria, particularly in Akwa Ibom and Cross River states. It is made with grated cocoyam or water yam. It taste so sweet and yummy. Below are the content and ingredients needed to prepare it
**CONTENT**
INGREDIENTS | QUANTITY |
---|---|
Cocoyam | 400g |
water | 400g |
Palm oil | 1 cup |
Fish or meat | 300g |
periwinkle | 1 cup |
crayfish | 1 cup |
salt | to taste |
pepper | To taste |
maggi | To taste |
onions | 2 chopped |
cocoyam leaves | 10 or more |
Steps to prepare
peal your cocoyam.
make sure to grate the cocoyam or water yam. After grating, add salt and stir it to taste.
then now use your cocoyam leaves to fold it till it covers the co Cocoyam and make sure fold it tight so it won't loss. Note, the cocoyam must be the fresh and succulent one.
then add the above listed ingredients. Water should come last and it should be warm one, after that cook it for 15mins.
Boom....!!!!!!!! Your Ekpang/cocoyam porridge is ready for consumption.
