I will be participating in another wonderful contest titled "LEARN MORE ABOUT SUGAR". This is one of the best topic ever in which I was taught in school about the role that sugar play's in humans body. All thanks to @oneray for bringing up this wonderful contest. Let's start from here without wasting time

Sugar is very essential for growth and development most expecially in children and adolescents, it helps to maintain an health microbiol which is essential for digestive health and immune function.

What is sugar and what are its main types?

Best on my own understanding, sugar is a vital component of a diet which plays a crucial role in various bodily functions. It is a type of carbohydrates which is the body's primary source of energy, it is a simple sugar which is also known as monosaccharides and is naturally found in many foods like vegetables, fruits and grains which is also essential for a proper brain function including mood regulation and cognitive function.

1. Glucose: This is one of the simple sugar Also known as a monosaccharide which serve as the primary source of energy for the body's sell, it is a vital component of carbohydrates which play's a vital role in various bodily function which includes red cell production and energy production.

2. Galactose: Is also an essential sugar which play's a vital role in various bodily functions, it is naturally found in some various food's particularly in milk and some fruits, it's proper metabolism is crucial for maintaining a proper health.

3. Fructose: Is also known as a monosaccharides that is naturally found in many foods, it is also an important component of carbohydrates which play's a vital role in various bodily functions such as fruit sugar and levulose.

4. Sucrose: Is also known as a table sugar, it is a disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose molecules, it is commonly use as a sweetener in some foods and beverages.

What are the effects of excessive sugar consumption on health?

1. Cancer: Is one of a multifunctional disease that can be influenced by various factors including sugar consumption. My research also suggests that high sugar intake can help to reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases.

2. Weight Gain And Obesity: Sugar contains empty calories, providing energy but lacking essential nutrient, consuming too much of sugar leads to a calorie surplus which can easily results in weight gain.

3. Tooth Decay And Cavities: This is also one of the common health issue that can result from excessive sugar consumption, therefore as bacteria feeds on sugar they produce acid which can easily damage tooth enamel and lead to cavities.

4. Mental Health: Excessive sugar consumption has been linked to an increase risk of depression which can also leads to fluctuations in blood sugar levels and other mental disorder.

5. Nutrient Imbalance: It actually occurs when the body receives much of a particular nutrient which can leads to an imbalance of essential nutrients like vitamins, fibre and minerals.

We have so many healthy alternatives to refund sugar that can satisfy your sweet tooth without the negative health effects here are some Options.

It is also essential to note that the natural sugars which are found in whole foods are naturally accompanied by water and other nutrients that can help to regulate digestion and blood sugar levels. Added sugars like those found in process food's are also the primary concern as they can leads to negative health effects.
