Hello my Steemian friends here! It's my pleasure to participate on this challenge.I hope you derive joy in reading through.
Drugs administration takes many routes to be given to the patient.Drugs can be given as drip infusion, ingestion, pessories, inhale including most common ones; injections and oral route. While injection is administered into the body in two ways such as the intravenous route and the intramuscular route.Patient may or may not have the choice to choose his or her preference. This is as as a result of the type of ailment, severity and the elimination lifespan. If you doubt me go a doctor and see if you would be allowed to make your choice if you have a certain kind of issues. The reason is, if certain administration route is not followed the sickness might not be treated much less of curing it.
On a personal level I prefer Intravenous route to every other route. Because it is less painful especially using it with a scalp vein. If I could be able forget my last injection abscess experience for those horrible six months and the scars it left on my buttocks, I would still like to go for injection especially intravenous due to it being being less painful and I won't taste the bitterness or pungent smell of any drugs.
Additionally, due to certain sensitive health issues I may not have any preference for administrating drugs, my doctor decides the most fastest, safer and effective route to deal with such kind of health challenge.
Now Lets dissect the topic by answering the questions.
Which of these three routes of medication administration do you consider the fastest and most effective to relieve pain, why?
Medically Intravenous injection is considered to be the most effective and fastest means of relieving pains and other symptoms. For instance, most bacteria and viral infections may only take intravenous route to be totally eliminated. In reality if I would be honest enough I do not really care about the particular mode of taking drugs, I usually take both oral and intravenous injection, but let say for the sake of this challenge I really would like to choose intravenous injection to oral, the first reason being that I hate the taste and smell of drugs. Secondly injection is fast and effective, it goes immediately to the blood stream, fighting the disease or infection causing agents. You can have a quick relieve from the symptoms of malaria or nervous system disorder such as adrenaline rise, and a very high fever in less than two minutes of administering intravenous injection unlike oral drug that will take an hour or so to be broken down first by the liver before it begins to work. Intravenous injection remains the fastest and effective route to administer drugs.
There are two ways to administer injected treatment, intravenous and intramuscular. Which of them do you prefer in case you need quick relief or discomfort?
Like I already explained my preference is intravenous route because it's fast to spread to every area being affected by the ailment to relieve the symptoms and probably total cure. Intravenous injection passes through the veins to the blood stream and other connective tissues, nerves to the brain which then diffuses the drugs to every internal organs that have been affected by the disease or infection. All these reaction takes place in less than two minutes.Once the injection is diffused from the syringe to the veins, the signal is abruptly sent to the brain which triggers a hormonal response to distribute it to the affected areas to arrest the bacterial or viral causing organisms, suppressing it's invasive dominance. This suppression instantly paralyzed the Micro-Organisms whether gram-positive or gram-negative giving the patient a soothing relieve or comfort until the dosage is completed for proper treatment.
There is a very good medicine for our body vitamin B12, why do you think they indicate it more in injection and not in pills? Do you think they do not have the same components or the same effect?
It is of a truth that Vitamin B12 otherwise known as Hemoglobin is very essential for our body because it has about twelve constituents of Vitamins put together. Without it our body will become weak and pale, anaemic syndrome will occur, palpitations, tingling of the feet and other undesirable severe complications.Vit B12 is blood in the body and blood is life. From
my personal observations and experiences, I have never really used to see Vit B12 in injection form. The only two forms of Vit B12 I know are Iron dextran injection which only passes through intramuscular route precisely the buttocks. The next one I know in a very severe condition is the blood transfusion which is literally used to be given by infusing drip or pounce through the vein that is, Intravenously.
I think why they use blood transfusion for Vit B12 is that, the route will be effective and fast enough to restore the patient blood loss, relieve the anaemic symptoms, give strength, build the blood cuppuscle and treat all other respiratory complication issues associated with Vit B12 deficiency. Other than than that, most common VIT B 12 I know exist in syrup and present in oral blood capsules such as De Dions Blood syrup for B12, Vit B12 Syrup, Daravit blood capsule, Ferrous and multivite .The one I currently used for myself is De Dions B12 Syrup.
If you are one of those who do not take pills and you do not like injections, what other method are you looking for to relieve pain or discomfort!?
I will go for infusion, using drip and a scalp vein. The tiny needle with scalp is painless and comfortable.Another method is using an infused method called Cannula, a kind of syringe object inserted through the vein temporary for days covered with a cap and be diffusing drugs into the patient. The patient goes about anywhere with Cannula and won't feel any pain.Such injection route is convenient usually given to people who fear injection and to children
I prefer intravenous injection route due to it convenience, effectiveness and the speed to eradicate the ailment. And on the contrary I go for any route provided it treats the ailment and on the doctor's counsel.
I invite @okere-blessing, @ eveetim, @wakekitty to join me in this challenge.
Thank you, friend!
