Hello, @hive-168205, I'm starting my SEC11W5 competition series by participating in the Healthy Steem community contest. Good day, everyone. Because this topic is so important to us as humans, I decided to start my week by discussing the most important aspect of maintaining our health.

As you all know, there are four major pillars that work together to keep our minds and bodies healthy. Exercise, good nutrition, relaxation, and sleep are thus essential for healthy living. These so-called "pillars of good health" not only keep our bodies running, but they also do wonders for our emotional well-being. Each pillar requires equal attention; ignoring one may have an impact on the ability to sustain the others. Eating high sugar or heavily processed foods, for example, will make you feel sluggish, slow, and heavy, making it difficult to stay active or energized. You may also have trouble sleeping if you are still upset about something that happened earlier in the day. Therefore, by focusing on these four pillars, we can improve our physical and mental health and live a healthier life.

👩‍💼 What do you eat to stay healthy? How can you improve your diet?

I understand that eating a healthy, balanced diet is one of the most important things I can do to protect my health. Therefore, I pay special attention to my diet.

Because rice and curry are our staple foods in Sri Lanka, I used to eat less rice and more vegetables and fruits to my meal. It is because a healthy diet can help lower the risk of heart disease and stroke by improving cholesterol levels, lowering blood pressure, managing body weight, and controlling blood sugar. Therefore, In addition, I choose more whole grain foods and include more protein-rich foods in my diet plan. I drink more water every day because it benefits my health and promotes hydration.

👩‍💼 What is your sleeping pattern, and how can you improve it?

I am aware that a healthy sleeping pattern improves my memory, creativity, and mood. In addition, if I do not get enough sleep, I will feel sluggish, foggy, depressed, and low on energy. Therefore, I used to go to bed around 11 p.m. and wake up around 6.30 p.m. Normally, six hours of sleep is sufficient for a person; however, I get more than seven hours of sleep per day. In addition, I take a short nap in the afternoon after a one-hour lunch. I am confident that my sleeping pattern is adequate for my healthy lifestyle and that I do not need to improve it.

👩‍💼 What are your daily exercises or activities? Do you need to do more?

I am a lady over the age of 55, so I engage in simple exercises such as walking, dance, and other simple exercises such as lifting, and stretching.

Every morning, I go for a 30-minute walk. Later, I engage in simple lift exercises, as it helps to improve my strength and posture and reduce the risk of back pain. After that I engage in stretching exercise, as it helps to maintain my joint flexibility and range of motion. Thus, I engage about an hour exercises per day.

I think according to my age those exercises are more enough for me.

👩‍💼 What do you do for mental fitness?

I am aware that mental fitness is an important factor in maintaining my healthy lifestyle. Therefore, I started meditating on a regular basis because it helps me improve my concentration, reduce stress and anxiety, alleviate depression, and overall improve my mental well-being. In addition, I enjoy my life by laughing, remaining cheerful, watching jokes move, and engaging in activities that I enjoy. Maintaining a physically fit body also benefits my mental health. When I am mentally fit, I interact with the world in a different way, that will help me to improve my mental health more and more.

thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about health with us as well as for sharing your participation with us and I agree with all factors that you have explained here which are important for diet as well as I want to add one thing regarding sleep that according to me it varies from person to person, from age to age so if you are 35 years old then 6 hours are enough for you because with the passage of time as we grow and become older than sleeping time reduces I wish to success in the engagement challenge

Good to know that you eat healthy foods like vegetables and drinks water to stay healthy daily.
Without mixing words, I am convinced that you are blessed with good health. Over the age of 55 and you are still active to go on a walk, dance and maintain healthy lifestyle.

Your sleeping pattern is good too because enough sleep is very good for the mental health.
I guess you made mistake with your waking hour; 6:30pm instead of 6:30am

Talking about daily fitness, meditation contributes positively to the mental health too by keeping us focus mentally, emotionally and physically stable.
