Write about importance of kidneys for body?

Almighty Allah has assigned each part of our body to a different function. Each part has a different function. Kidneys plays many important roles in the body. Kidneys play an important role in maintaining our overall good health. Kidney is very important for us, it can be understood from the following discussion: -

• Removal of body waste: -
  Various waste products are produced in the body from food, medicine and normal processes. If they cannot be removed, various complications are created. Kidney keeps the body healthy by removing these unnecessary waste materials.
• Fluid and electrolyte balance: -
  Kidney controls the electrolyte balance of the body. It controls the balance of essential elements like sodium, potassium and calcium in the body. It also controls the water balance.
• Blood Pressure Control: -
  Kidneys regulate blood pressure through a complex system involving hormones such as renin. The kidneys do this by adjusting blood volume and sodium balance.
• Red blood cell production: -
  The kidneys produce a hormone called erythropoietin, which helps the bone marrow make red blood cells.
• Bone health: -
  The kidneys activate vitamin D, which is essential for calcium absorption. Without proper vitamin D activation, bones become weak and brittle.
  In this way, the kidneys help our body to be active and healthy in many other ways.

Write about structure and functions of kidney

Kidney is a bean-shaped organ located on both sides of the spine, just below the ribs. The structure of the kidney is discussed below: -
Each kidney has three main structural compartments

• Cortex: -
  It is the auricular layer of the kidney, where blood filtration takes place. It contains structures called glomeruli, which are tiny filtering units, through which blood is filtered.
• Medulla: -
  The medulla is located just below the cortex. It consists of a cone-shaped mass of tissue called the renal pyramid.
• Renal pelvis: -
  It is the innermost part of the kidney, where filtered urine collects before flowing into the bladder via the ureters.
  There are also nephrons, glomerulus, Bowmans, tubules and many other components. All these together form the kidney.

• Function of kidney: -
  Kidney is an important organ of the body and It plays an important role for the health of the body. For example: -
• Kidneys remove unnecessary and harmful substances from the body.
• Kidneys help to maintain fluid and electrolyte balance in the body.
• Kidneys help regulate blood pressure in the body.
• Kidney plays a major role in making red blood cells which are very important for the body.
• Kidney always helps in acid base balance in the body.
• Kidneys play a role in making vitamin D.
