What is Malaria?
Malaria is a deadly and dangerous disease that is caused by a parasite called plasmodium. This parasite usually enters our body through the bite of an infected female mosquito. It is mainly found in humid climates and hot regions. Especially in parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Bangladesh malaria cases increase during the monsoon rains. Many people in our country are infected with this deadly disease every year. Many people lose their lives every year due to this disease.
What are the three symptoms of malaria explain it.
Three main symptoms of malaria
High fever and chills: The most common symptoms of malaria are high body temperature and severe chills. A person infected with malaria first feels very cold, then the body temperature starts to increase rapidly.
Excessive fatigue and weakness: Malaria destroys the body's blood cells, resulting in a lack of oxygen in the body. This makes the patient's body very weak and tired.
Headache and nausea: Another common symptom of a person suffering from malaria is a severe headache and a feeling of vomiting. In some cases, the patient actually vomits, which further dehydrates the patient's body.
How does malaria affect our lives?
Malaria is a disease that causes great harm not only physically but also socially and economically. When affected by this disease, our performance decreases, which reduces the person's income. Especially in our country, poor families are more affected by this disease. Moreover, children and pregnant women face serious complications when infected with malaria. Malaria infection can cause organ damage and even death if it lasts for a long time.
How to prevent malaria?
Malaria can be prevented if we are aware. Malaria can also be prevented by taking some effective measures -
Use of mosquito nets and insecticides: Using mosquito nets while sleeping at night is the best preventive measure. In addition, using mosquito repellent spray in the room after dusk.
Use mosquito repellent lotions and sprays: Using mosquito repellent creams or sprays when leaving the house after evening can help protect against mosquito bites.
Keep the environment clean: Malaria is spread by mosquitoes, so we should keep the surroundings of the house clean and ensure that water does not accumulate anywhere around, so that mosquitoes do not breed.
Get appropriate treatment: If someone shows symptoms of malaria, they should seek medical advice without delay. Because if not treated quickly, it can become complicated. Which can even lead to death.
Increase public awareness: It is very important to make people aware of malaria so that everyone can take preventive measures. This will reduce the impact of malaria to a large extent.
Malaria is a terrible disease but it is preventable. We can develop preventive measures through awareness, which can save us from this disease. Therefore, by maintaining our healthy lifestyle and cleanliness, and by seeking timely treatment for any problems, we can greatly reduce the risk of malaria.
