Hello my dear Steemians,
Today I wanted to write for this contest that is running by @sahmie, here is the link if you are also interested:

When I was a child I did not know what is blood and when we had a fall and wound that was bleeding I was fascinated with a colour of blood which was bright red. In few seconds blood actually was stopped flowing and we had a little clot that was stick to wound.
As any child we all tasted blood too, do you remember the taste of it? Yes, iron, that was my first impression as a child even without knowing medicine. You might ask how I knew that was tasted as iron? Simply because as again every child I tried to lick iron, I do not know why, oh.. maybe just iron spoon and remember the taste.
Later on in school we learnt biology and talked about Blood and only then I found that people have different blood groups although all people have red coloured blood.
From our teacher we found that in the past old time doctors tried to give blood from one person to other if they last blood but noticed that if some recovered then other died quickly after transfusion and that made people think that there is something within blood itself. Often to give bloods within family causes less problem because they may have similar group and rhesus factors.
There are 4 main group of Blood type:
- Group 1: which is called 0 or zero that means there are no antigens but antibodies in plasma
- Group A: means they had antigen A on red cells and anti-B antibodies in plasma
- Group B: the people have antigen B on red cells and anti-A antibodies in plasma
- Group AB: people had both antigens AB and no antibodies in plasma
Depending on Rh factor of rhesus factor that could be (-) or (+) each group can have either positive of negative that makes it to divide into 8 main Blood Groups.
Every group is compatible only with the same Group and Rhesus factor. It is important to know own group because if one person will receive wrong group or wrong Rh factor group that can kill people. That is why before any transfusion bloods of the person who needs will be checked with the donor blood if there is no reaction then person can receive that blood unit.
The function of blood is to transport Oxygen and important proteins, clotting factors. In acute situations we need blood. There are few situations like: acute blood loss or chronic, during surgeries when we loose blood, people even can donor themselves in they know that there is enough time for their own donation.
The people who do not have any antigens in their blood or the people with blood group 0 or zero with Negative Rh factor are universal donors, that is why those people can donate their blood to any other group. Luckily majority people have group 9 (zero)
The people with group AB can give only to people who have same group but they can receive blood from any blood group people, so they are universal recipient.
It was nice to take part in this contest and I would like to invite @isha-rehman, @isha-rehman and @sojib1996

Yes, Zero is widely spread group, maybe that is also good that we can use it often for donation, thank you for reading :)
