Why do you think personal hygiene is important for our health?

Since ancient time we know that many diseases could be prevented by personal hygiene. What are simple stuff that we teach our children:

  • when we are outside playing, taking bus or working, that is the time when we touch everything with hands, majority of infection is transmitted by our hands. As children we automatically after arriving home grab something in kitchen some biscuits, bread, or any food and eat it without thinking about any problems. Later on we might feel first symptoms of tummy pain, sometimes diarrhoea and vomiting

  • as children we are taught to wash hands after going to toilette, again it is a way of transmission other infections that can be transmitted by so called “faecal-oral” route

What are the most important hygiene habits you think everyone should practice daily?

Seeing above mentioned, we should work out simple habits such as:

  • washing hands when we coming home from outside
  • washing fruits and vegetables before eating them
  • avoid putting fingers in mouth, some people have habit to bite on their nails

How does hygiene affect our relationships with others?

People usually notice if you making sure that you wash your hands when you have meal with others. The other side of hygiene is making sure that you take regular shower and pay attention that if you have excessive sweating then using deodorant. Do not forget about brushing teeth to avoid bad smell from mouth, but also make sure you treat your teeth any holes in teeth will promote bacteria growth and bad smell in mouth and that is not possible to remove just with brushing teeth.

Make sure your hair clean and not greasy, that also makes a good impression when you work with other people.

How do cultural differences influence hygiene practices around the world?

In some countries eating with fingers and also from one big plate is still very common and traditional, in that case those one who do not pay attention to wash their hands may cause infection and also you can spread infection to others.

Other countries use water instead of toilette paper in toilette.

Also, in some countries people walk only bare feet inside of house, to prevent infection on their flooring.
In South East Asian, it is common when being in crowded places or taking public transport then using mask to prevent infection for themselves and for others.

What role do you think hygiene plays in preventing the spread of illnesses?

As anything in this world, it is easy to prevent that is why all hygiene methods are the best for us to stay healthy and prevent infection, that is why simple ways can help us to stay healthy:

  • washing hands and food before eating
  • wearing masks
  • cooking your food properly and
  • to make sure that your food is not breach expiry date
