Hello fellow steemians!!! It's been awhile I participated in contest in this wonderful community. I thank @secretbeauty for another opportunity to participate here. Today's contest talks about favorite food and I can't wait to share mine😘😘😘.

MY FAVORITE FOOD

My favorite food is called rice. It is made out of rice and some other ingredients like tomatoes,pepper,seasoning cubes,etc. It is my favorite food because it is easy to prepare especially when you're hungry. Also,from this part of the world I come from,rice happens to be almost everybody's favorite,if not everyone sef. Some families prepare it mostly on Sundays,some on special occasion while others eat it almost everyday. It can be prepared in different forms such as rice and beans,rice and stew,jollof rice,coconut rice,fried rice etc. I will be taking us on the journey on how to prepare jollof rice.

INGREDIENTS USED IN PREPARING JOLLOF RICE

The ingredients used in preparing jollof rice are as follows:

  • Rice.
  • Tomatoes(it could be fresh or canned).
  • Pepper(it could be of any form).
  • Salt.
  • Seasoning cubes.
  • Curry.
  • Thyme.
  • Nutmeg.
  • Onions.
  • Groundnut oil.

HOW TO PREPARE JOLLOF RICE

Jollof rice is one of the simplest meals to make out of rice. You can easily make something edible even if you're tired. Below are the procedures on how to make jollof rice:

  • Measure out your rice into the pot and parboil.
  • After it must have boiled for about 15-20 minutes,pour into a sieve and thoroughly wash it in order to get rid of the remaining starch.
  • Heat up your pot in order to get rid of water if any.
  • Pour groundnut oil into your dry pot and your chopped onions,fry the onions till slightly brown. Avoid burning the onions.
  • Pour in your tomatoes for frying.
  • After you must have fried your tomatoes,begin to add your ingredients such as crayfish,nutmeg,powdered curry,thyme,salt,pepper,seasoning cubes.
  • Allow your ingredients to fry then you add water and cover the pot.
  • Allow to boil for sometime then you proceed to add your parboiled rice.
  • After the water must have dried from the rice,you can now proceed to bring it down from the fire.
  • FOOD IS READY!!! So you can serve nowπŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—.
