Introduction

Writing to your younger self can be quite astonishing. It gets you emotional as you begin to see where you have made so many mistakes in your journey in life.

You get to realize so many things that you once didn't know, or that you knew and took for granted. It also helps to make you see some patterns you have seen in yourself that you can correct so as not to make them in the future and to make you do things differently, which in turn take you on a different course in life.

Letter To My Five years old Me

Dear Five years old Me,

It is I your older self, I thought to write you a letter to tell you about things you never had thought about at that age "5". A whole lot has taken place between us from the age of 5 up until now.

In the process, I have learned a lot of things that even your pigment of imagination would never have conceived because the way things have occurred, only God can see it, no one else can.

One of the things I have learnt is that you should be careful about the type of guys you date. There are a lot of fine guys around, know that some of them are generally terrible people. I had a boyfriend whom I loved and all, he was very fine as you can imagine. But I realized something about him, he was not caring enough, he never cared about my well being, he wasn't a romantic guy, he rarely took me out on dates, worst still, he was very controlling as he always wanted to know my everywhere about. This way I found out that he was insecure.

We dated for more than a year, I really loved him, but at some point I had to break up with him because he wasn't trying to grow or get any better. If you want to date any guy, the first to watch out for is his character, not his face. Through his character, you can tell if you would both have an understanding of each other or you wouldn't just waste your time to begin with.

Another thing I learned is the importance of networking. You see those your primary school mates, they are all going to grow and end up becoming something. It is good to make friends with as much friends as you can make. It doesn't end there, you should also try to connect with them as much as possible, this way, you keep in touch and which is very beneficial to you as you have the leverage of knowing people. The advantage of this is that you get to keep yourself endeared to a lot of people and this can land you in a lot of opportunities as you have the connection to a lot of people.

Again I learned that aside having a degree, having a skill is also very important. This life can be very funny and also very hard. You can use your degree and get a very good high paying job, that is nice, but it can go against you due to things like inflammation and cost of living. If it's high, the you might not live comfortably as you wished, then you start thinking about improving your finances. The best way to accomplish this is through having a skill set you can depend on.

You should be lady like and dress decently. It prevents you from being labelled as something you are not and take unnecessary eyes of you. As you can imagine, a lot of men lack self control and can hold themselves, once those kind of men sees you in a certain dress, they can act very funny. Dressing decently helps you in more ways than not. It gives a good impression about you to others especially men, it removes every form of label that you might have, it makes you look decent and appealing to the sensible ones around you, and your wouldn't have to be too conscious of yourself anywhere you go.

Finally, I will talk about having a good personal hygiene. It is very good for the body especially as a woman. It is recommended that you brush twice and have your bath twice. You should try to wash your clothes regularly, especially your undies, it will go a long way to serve you. Eat healthy, eat 3 times a day if you can, if you can't, at least twice is okay. Also add fruits to your dieting, it will help nourish your body's system and get you healthier. Never indulge in smoking, it is very bad to your health even as a woman.

Conclusion

It was great writing to my five year old self. There were lots of things I could remember as I was writing this letter. The thoughts gave me bitter Sweet emotions as they were the good, bad, and ugly.

But in the midst of it all, I'm glad I took part in this exercise as it relieved me of some stress and made me realize so many things I had not thought of or have forgotten.

There's a whole lot more stuff to write, but those are very sensitive and has very strong emotional attachments to them.

know my everywhere about. This way I found out that he was insecure.

What an interesting love story. As a boy, I would defend him as a being possessive.

You should be lady like and dress decently.

That's good advice but remarks about men are a bit scary. May be some men are like that.

Good luck

I can understand your sentiment about my love story with my ex, but that's what I felt about him.

remarks about men are a bit scary. May be some men are like that.

I don't know what you mean by my remarks about men are scary. I just pointed out a characteristics I saw in my former man.

Anyways thanks for reading my post.

Hello mate,
It is quite funny reading your paragraph about men, I understand you
It's advice though, you have advised young jane well, and I am sure she will adhere to all of your advice, the way you dress will determine the way your are being addressed

Thanks for sharing
Greeting

Lol, thank you. It's just an experience I had with my ex.

Yes the way you are dressed is the way you are addressed.

In this journey of life we will find many things including experiences, whether it is a beautiful experience, a happy experience, happy, happy, bitter experience, sweet, sad, full of sorrow, deep wounds, full of struggle, new experiences at work, company, at school, campus, experience abroad, outside the island, village, city, outside the province and others.

Each experience certainly has its own meaning, some of which are still remembered today as unforgettable memories. An experience is so valuable when we take lessons from it and make us as people who continuously improve and learn to be better from past memories.

I also made a 5 year story. If you have time, please take a look.

Hello @amryksr,

You have said a lot. We go through a lot, which ends up being an experience. And like you have rightly said, there's a lot we get from each experience.

Experience is very valuable, from experience we can learn. Maybe we have failed before, from that failure we can make changes. I am waiting for you to comment on my post.

Thank you.

I will do just that.
