Hi steemians,
I have run out of fodder crops for the cattle's in our farm. So, i decided to grow it in a new area.

Land Preparation

I ploughed the land with tractor. Then i made furrow bed to place the fodder crop seed.
Like shown in image below.

Fodder Crop Stick

Then i brought some fodder crop sticks from neighbors farm. It's totally free of cost in village.
There are more variety of fodder grass available. Now i am going to plant a CO-4 variety.
Which is familiar between farmers and the cattle's likes the taste of it.

I cut the fodder crops sticks into small pieces.
I cut the sticks with two nodes , which is enough to grow.

Placing the stick

Then i arranged all the pieces in the furrow bed slantingly like shown in the image below.
The nodes should face upwards.

Irrigation

After arranging all the sticks, make a flood irrigation.
The water should be filled up to the top of the furrow.
Then only it will keep the moisture and the germination will happen.

My son always works with me. He also loves farming.
I will write about that in another post.

conclusion

It will take 4-5 days to grow. Only after 90 days we cut the fodder plant for cattle's.
Then After the first cut (90 days ) we can cut the plants every 45 days once.
Its a permanent fodder. There's no need of maintenance, less work and wore effective.

I will keep update the growth of this fodder.

Have a good day
Thankyou
