Hey guys Alex is here to explain! The joke here is that some countries are just poorer than others, so back when we were younger, we used to think the countries should just print more money because if they had more money then they wouldn’t be as poor anymore! However, while this may seem like a good idea to us when we were 5 years old, this would actually be an awful idea because if you print more money, the money starts to lose its value and inflation happens. Inflation is basically where money’s worth goes down and down due to the fact that there’s more in circulation. So the guy saying “my goodness, what an idea, why didn’t I think of that?” Because he’s being sarcastic because that idea would only make everything worse and wouldn’t solve a single thing.
