Hi everyone I m excited to participate in the Steemit Philippines Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 8 Week 4 For this week's challenge I'll be showcasing the famous street foods in my place As someone who loves to explore local food Im thrilled to share with you the different flavors and varieties of street foods that are available in my locality Join me as I take you on a culinary journey of my hometowns most popular street foods lets get started

Chapli kebab

chapli kebab is a popular dish in the Pashtun regions of Pakistan The dish consists of a patty made from ground beef or lamb mixed with various spices and herbs such as coriander cumin chili and garlic the patty is then flattened and shallow fried in oil until it turns crispy and golden brown Chapli kebab is typically served with naan bread sliced onions and chutney It is a beloved street food that is enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds The dish is known for its unique taste and aroma which comes from the combination of various spices and ingredients

1 Ground beef or Lamb meat is the Star Ingredient of the dish and provides the bulk Of its flavor and
texture

2 spices: Various spices such as cumin coriander chili powder and garam masala are used to Season the meat and Give it a delicious and aromatic flavor

3 onion: Finely chopped onions are added to the meat Mixture to give it moisture and sweetness.

4 Tomatoes some versions of the recipe call for adding chopped tomatoes to the mixture which adds a slightly tangy flavor to the kebab

5 Garlic and ginger: these two ingredients are commonly used in pakistani and afghan cuisine and are Added to the meat mixture For added flavor

6 Egg Some versions of the recipe calls for adding an egg to the mixture Which helps bind the ingredients together

7 Flour a small amount of flour is added to the mixture to help bind the Ingredients and give the kebab a slightly crispy texture

8 oil The kebab is shallow fried in oil until it is crispy and golden brown

(Cooking Procedures)

500 Grams Ground beef or lamb
1 Onion Finely Chopped
1 Tomato Finely Chopped (Optional)
2 cloves Garlic Minced
1 tsp ginger Paste
1 sp cumin Powder
1 Tsp Coriander powder
1 Tsp Red Chili powder
1 tsp Garam Masala powder
1 egg
2 Tbsp Flour
Salt To Taste
Oil For Shallow frying

in a mixing bowl Combine the Ground beef or lamb onion tomato Using garlic ginger paste Cumin powder coriander Powder red Chili powder garam Masala powder Egg flour And salt to taste

mix well Until all the ingredients are combined

divide The mixture Into Equal portions And shape each portion Into a flat patty

heat Oil in A shallow Frying pan Over medium Heat

Once the oil is hot add The chapli kebabs to the pan and fry for 3 4 minutes on each side Until they are Golden brown And crispy

Once done Remove the kebabs From the pan and place them on a plate Lined with paper towels to Remove any excess oil

Serve Hot with naan bread sliced onions and chotney

the kebab is also Popular because it is a traditional dish from the Pashtun regions of pakistan it is enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds It is often served as a street food and its popularity has led to many restaurants and cafes offering it on their menus
another factor that Makes chapli kebab famous is its versatility it can be served as a snack appetizer or as a main course with rice or bread its popularity has also spread beyond pakistan it is now enjoyed by people all over the world
