How Filipino Teachers Handled The "Lack of Space" Challenge

We Filipinos aren't only temperate, but we're also resourceful. We aren't effortlessly shaken by whatever doom we're in. There are moments when we buck off but only when there is no way to make it anymore. So in whatever situation we're into, we struggle to survive.

Let me show you how creative "Pinoy" teachers are in finding solutions to the " Lack of Space" challenge during the retrieval and distribution of printed learning materials.

Beautiful Days!
I attend at one of the" big schools" here in Lapu-Lapu City. Because it's in the city, the facilities of the school where I'm in are also pretty good. The teachers can be said to be fortunate here. Each classroom has a functional comfort room with water. In other words, it's comfortable to stay in our classroom.

Mactan National High School

Since it's a big school, eventually the students population here is also of large number.

Start of Challenge
In the first year of the pandemic, we thought the number of enrollees would lessen but instead, it increased indeed more. Those students who used to be " Private School" enrollees transferred to public schools to avoid the tuition fees while at breaking point.

This school year, our students have increased in number more rapidly. Right on the first day of classes a problem immediately startled us. The issued modules we prepared were lacking due to the large number of students chasing to enroll. But even then we were able to find ways to solve the problem and the effort of the parents in coming to school wasn't wasted at all.

Challenge Accepted!
It was announced that our school will be used as an Isolation center for " healing " covid victim and that we have to evacuate the area soon. Everyone was dumbstruck! With the number of students we have plus we teachers, where can we fit then?
How can we duly distribute the learning stuff to parents while enforcing social distancing with such a big crowd?

So the day came when we need to empty the area for our safety. And we were assigned to an area where we need to stay together in one room per grade level at Mactan Elementary School. It's hard to adapt in such a small space since we were used to staying in one room per adviser. Plus where to put our belonging was a headache.
That wasn't all. What we really prepare is how to control the crowd and maintain social distancing when it's time to return the accomplished answer sheets from the students. As I have mentioned we have a bigger number of enrollees this year.

Problem Solved!
But when the day of the retrieval of modules arrives, you'll be amazed at the initiative of the teachers.
Here is how resourceful "Pinoy" teachers are!

Small space? Sir has an answer for that. Instead of spreading out the modules horizontally, he duly arranged them this way.

No container? Mam has a solution for that. Look at this, some are serious about buying trays and others just recycle cartoon cover into containers.

No table? Mam can handle that too! See those boxes are converted into tables. Easy as that, so problem solved!

This is how we are doing at present. It pays to be resourceful rather than purely complaining. Every problem has a solution. Just really look at the bright side of it. I hope you're inspired by how resourceful "Pinoy" teachers are. I know you have yours to tell too. Feel free to share it to inspire us more. Thanks for visiting my post. Till then keep safe.

Cheers,
