Unplanned moments are usually the best. Who would have thought we'll make it to Olango today?
It all started over a conversation during breakfast when out of nowhere my mother suggested "Laag ta".
Mama: Laag ta
Me: (hesitant because laag means gasto unya mingaw man ang bulsa)
Kids: yehey ligo ta dagat.
And so, we packed our things and to Olango we go.
With no idea where to go, we boarded the ferry together with our churchmates who are going to Olango as well to help in the construction of our sister church. Ang ending, nikuyog mi nila sa caw-oy, stayed there for lunch.
It was nice seeing the kids again. I wasn't able to join our Sunday afternoon outreach for some reasons so I sort of missed their presence.
Iba talaga sa Olango.For lunch, we were served with shells and lobsters, calamares, grilled pork, halang - halang, escabeche. wala na ko kapicture sa uban
Here's a glimpse of our lunch today.
The kids are already eager to go to the beach. Off we go. The islanders told us there's a public beach a few meters away from the church. We walked our way there passing by sime houses. Bahala na lang basta kay maabot mi sa dagat nga gikahinaman sa tanan. Ug tuod man, naabot mi sa lugar with disappointment in the kids' faces. Not because they don't like it but because it's low tide. Nevertheless, since this is what they want, whether low tide or high tide let's seize the moment.
After the beach, we went back to church. Time for another delicious food. We were served with budbud and biko. Happy kids, happy tummy.
It's always a delight to work for the Lord.
At 6:00 in the evening, we decided to go home. Grabe kadagko sa bawd. Gikuyawan ko gamay because the kids are with us. We waited for the the large ferry to at least give us a little comfort knowing nga naa cxa katig.
Thankfully, we arrived safe and sound amidst the big waves.
So that's all for today. I hope for another moment like this to happen kanang wala ka magdahom nga makalaag ug pinakalit. Again, unplanned moments are always the best.
Thank you for dropping by.
As always,
@jonabeth
