Hello guys! It's been ten days since my last post. As much as I wanted to write a blog, I had been caught up with so many things. I will talk about those things in the future but for now, I wanted to share with you my very first film camera. I know you might be raising your eyebrows as to why I bought one while this generation is all about digital cameras. Before you judge me, please hear out why I got hand of one.
A few weeks ago, I saw a listing in FB marketplace of someone mentioning a page of a certain seller vintage film cameras and lenses. So I went to this page out of curiosity and checked which items I could possibly afford and then I saw these 2 lenses for sale for just 3k PHP with the body as free.
At first, I'm interested only with the lenses, but the seller said the camera body will be given for free, who doesn't want free stuffs, right?
I wanted to have a wider vintage lens, and one of the lenses is 28mm which is wide enough for my needs. The other lens is also a bit of a telephoto which is the 135mm so they are very interesting focal lengths. Now I I have 28mm, 58mm, 105mm and 135mm vintage lenses and they are all having the same m42 screw mount.
I love collecting vintage lenses because they are affordable and they provide some certain look or character that's quite unique compared to modern lenses. Actually, I think these are just imperfections or softness but I like those aesthetics for photo and video.
The items came a bit late though, I had it shipped in Oslob and we were waiting for it for more than two weeks. On the day that we were about to go back to Cebu City regardless if the shipment arrives or not, the delivery courier called me and so I was able to bring it with us to Cebu City.
Unfortunately, this is my first film camera and I don't have a single idea how to use it. My wife @junebride has a film camera before and so she has an idea on how to attach the film and so on but the problem is that we don't have a film roll right now.
I searched online and these film rolls are already expensive so I am not sure when will we be able to get a hand of a film. But I already tried the lenses. On the day that I purchased this, I also ordered an adapter for the lenses for my Sony camera bodies and I tried taking photos with the lens already, I will create a separate post about that in the future.
For now, I am happy to share with you my first ever film camera and Fuji camera too!
Thanks for reading and see you on the next one!
To God be the glory!
