Hi everyone!
Today I will share one of my favorite breakfast/merienda "Champorado with fried tuyo". It's easy to cook and less ingredients.
Here are the ingredients.
Water for washing the rice and cooking.
Let's start cooking!
Wash the rice two times and drain the water.
Pour 8 Cups (2 Liters) of water and simmer over medium heat.
While waiting for the rice to boil, chop the tablea balls so it will be easier to dissolve.
Stir in the tables once it starts to boil.
When the liquid is reduced in half, add the sugar. Stir occasionally to prevent from buring the rice at the bottom.
Simmer until thick, just like in the photo. Turn off the heat.
Put some champorado in a bowl and pour some milk.
Top it with fried tuyo. I remove the fishbone before frying, but some people eats the whole tuyo specially when it's crispy.
The saltiness of fried tuyo compliments with the sweetness of champorado. At first, I thought the combination is weird but I can say that it's a must try! It taste best during rainy days.
