Dear diary
Knowing that I will need to leave for Benin city on time I could rarely close my eyes
My bus was scheduled to leave by 6:00 am, it is mandatory that I be at the bus station by 5:30 am so as to check it, it is company policy
My brother drove me to the park few minutes past 5am, as soon as I go there I went on to check in, we had a delay, we didn’t leave as scheduled due to the fact that not everyone scheduled to leave with the bus have checked in
We left by 6:30 am, the training I am supposed to attend is scheduled to run from 8:30 – 5:00 pm, the journey I was going to embark on require at least 4 hours, to a large extent I have already set my mind on the worst case scenario
The journey was a long one, so many changes have occurred over this lockdown since the pandemic
Construction work was going on along the way and this resulted in more delay on the way, another thing was the amount of road blocks that was on the way, it seemed as if the security agency had information concerning something
I didn’t eat prior to my leaving the home, I had my breakfast and lunch together when the bus came to a stop at a super market along the way, I bought some roast meat and carbonated drink, I tried to stay calm and positive in all this
When I got to Benin city I went straight to my house to drop my bags and after that I went straight to the training center, I was already behind time, I pleaded with my supervisor and I explained my situation for coming late
I got to Benin city by 12:47 pm while I got to the training center at 2:08 pm
I stay until the end of the training before I went home, at this time I was so exhausted
I just took my bath and went straight to bed.
Goodnight diary.
