Conscious/Subconscious singing by @joelmaxwell

Had an awesome time with a student of mine during the week, we were deep into the class when I dropped that line and had to explain that to him of which I would to you.

You know most singers usually feel that you just need to just love singing, have the passion and then open your mouth and sing, having the mindset that that's all there is to singing but when the opportunity arises to sing, they end up having issues with pitch, being on-key, dynamics and the rest..... Thats because they viewed music from the subconscious angle, rather
than CONSCIOUS progressing into the SUBCONSCIOUS .

So what is the conscious level??.

It is you knowing that passion alone is not a prerequisite for an awesome sound or an improved range.

But passion mixed with a desire for growth, in terms of understanding how music works, learning good breath control, learning how to use the mic properly, learning the right posture in singing, being abreast with the right techniques that could improve your singing that's you now being intentional with your sound and you now coming from the conscious angle.

Then you could now move into the subconscious whereby what ever you now do is from a place of in-depth knowledge and might not necessarily need you to think alot about how to do it because you have gained MASTERY overtime due to a conscious level of practice and guidance.

So Guys!!! Be intentional with your sound if you want the best out of it....
