Hello my good friends, how are you doing. Today is about my journey with English language, how I started speaking English language and many more.
Right from birth I never knew anything nor speak English language, until I get to secondary school. This happened to me based on the area that I grow up. I grew up in the barracks and all will speak is a topical pidgin like oboy how far na, my guy come chop instead of my friend come and eat. While at home those days I was speaking my native language with my parents which is bekwarra.
Growing up I find it so difficult to speak English even though out my primary school days it was so difficult for me to relate with others due to the fact that I can't speak sound English like others. I started feeling so ashamed of myself that because my fellow classmates were calling me dulled boy and insulting me with English. After my primary school I told my parents that I most go to the school that is outside the barracks, a school where I can learn how to speak good English and write it well.
My journey in English began fully in JSS1 class, the day I introduced myself as a student in the class. Oh my God it wasn't easy for me that day because I was told that the school prohibit bad English and if anyone found speaking such would be punished. Although one of the student taught me how to introduced myself to the class and still yet I made a mistake and the students laughed at me. And since then I never stop learning English even up till today.
It's always good for someone to speak good English because it develops our writing skills and also build a sound bilateral relationship. First and famous my appreciation goes to the organizer of the contest @teamg-nigeriain in #steemnigeria community that you very much.
Best regards
