My experience in learning English has been awful owing to the fact that we learn every now and then. English language can not be exhausted as new world keep emanating day by day. In most countries studying English language isn't compulsory but in Nigeria where I come free, it is like the most used language even more than the mother tongue.

Learning English for has not been easy I must confess, more ever I had a father who was very good at buying books to keep my busy on my tenses. My listening and speaking skills was bad though. After some years I started to study English by myself again and now I am taking a course of English and I become better with this language but my big problem is sometimes practice it and it is not enough.

I can still remember when I could not write 100 words in my essay exams. That was really bad. We were introduced to books like Eze goes to school, an old book like things fall apart, all these to help my vocabulary and foster my English learning process. When it got too bad my parents had to involve an English teacher which was paid extra to teach me at home. It later occur to me that words are formed from combination of letters, so if you can pronounce the letters then the word itself would be a piece of cake. However that my own view of how words are formed, others might have a different idea view about this statement, but one thing is sure, we all need English on way or the other.

In conclusion, learning is a lifelong process, and this is especially true when learning English. As long as we are willing to listen and read, with enough time and practice, we surely can speak and write better each day — at least that’s how I roll.
