Today in Church, a prayer was said that none of our family members would visit coffin seller to purchase a coffin.

What a wonderful prayer it was and we all shouted in our loudest voices saying 'amen'.

Of a truth, the prayer will get massive response from the people because no one wants to die. We wont all die before our time.

Immediately the prayer ended, a question popped up in my head and this was 'what would a coffin seller be thinking had he been a member of the congregation'?

No doubt, they are human beings too and they are simply doing a business. The business of providing 'comfort' place for the dead to be buried.

While it might not be the business many would venture into, it is still a business with the aim of a making profit.

Then i asked myself, do these people pray to God to sell? Like the way we pray and hope that people come to our shops to buy what we are selling. Do they also say God, let people come to buy coffin?

Would that be a harsh or bad prayer to say? Or is it a normal prayer since they are simply saying God let me see favour from your sight by sending people to buy what i am selling?

While death sounds good to the hearing when it happens to our aged parents, we know it's not only aged people that die.

Young ones also die and it sounds inappropriate to pray that coffins should be purchased for them. But still, it is these people's business.

My worry is on what kind of prayers they say to God and if they are in Churches or Mosques where such prayers are said, how would they feel?

Disappointed for saying a prayer against their business? Would they continue to worship in such centres or do they even attend any religious services at all?

Any idea on the matter? I would love to hear from you.
