Why do people break rule of law?

Rules are made as guide on how people should live, what they must do and not do, what is acceptable and unacceptable in a society.

Our lives, how we move, what we eat, buy and the rest are somehow premissed on the rules governing our society and that of our parents.

These rules are the principles that make us humans and civil. Without them, we wont be different from wild beast.

While these laws are stated clearly on how we must live to coexist peacefully in our communities, people still disobey these rules.

We know that ignorance is not an excuse which means we are all expected to know these rules/laws and obey them strictly.

It is rather surprising that those with good knowledge of these rules still flaunt them and act contrary to what law preaches.

You might be wondering why would a government official, saddled with the responsibility to stop money laundry is the godfather of those stealing public funds?

It is not new to hear government arresting same people they gave the responsibilities to arrest people and make sure they give account of public funds.

This idea of knowing the consequences of our actions and even inactions and yet committing these crimes is beyond my imagination.

I still wonder what justification we have for these behaviours. Is it the case that these laws are made on the surface alone?

Or the case that these people, by virtue of their responsibilities are above same laws/rules they vow/swore an oath to protect?

Perhaps there is a way to process these behaviour to properly understood why people engage in them even when they know the law forbids it.

I would love to hear your opinion.

The fact that some certain people don't seem to care much about rules as they go about breaking them is proof that laws were made to keep those below them from acting out even when they could clearly see they were oppressed. Nothing in life is ever as true as it appears, you can see that in the case of the so called laws

Hmmm! You pucked it from another angle. You have a point though but laws are jot necessarily anti-freedom. State of nature shows that.
