Assalamu Alaikum friends,
There is a lot of history behind the formation or independence of every country. Going to participate in a great contest titled History of my country organized by respected moderator @mostofajaman of Steam for Bangladesh community. I will answer these questions with some facts about my country. I invite you @jebanikajeba @mahmud552 @mahadisalim to participate in this contest.
Write a few words about where you live and your country.
I am a citizen of independent Bangladesh by birth. I live in Bangladesh and love my country very much. Bangladesh is a riverine country. Bangladesh is a non-communal and culturally rich country located in South Asia. Bangladesh is a country of six seasons. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is famous for its warm hospitality, rich heritage and Bengali language and literature. Bangladesh is an evergreen country and has fertile land for agriculture.
What are the historical days of your country?
Behind every achievement of Bangladesh there is a history which is written in golden letters in the hearts of every people of Bangladesh.
The first historical achievement of Bangladesh is the state language Bangla. We achieved Bengali language on February 21, 1952 by protesting against the Urdu language imposed by Pakistan. On 21 February, Bengali was recognized by UNESCO as an international mother tongue in 1999.Bangladesh's major achievement and debut as an independent country was on December 16, 1971 which is our Independence Day. For this independence, the Bengali nation achieved this independence by fighting for 9 months in 1971. 26 March is celebrated as this independence.
Also our freedom announcer Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed in his own family on 15th August 1975 which was a black day for the nation and later it was observed as National Mourning Day.
Bengali nation is a nation of heroes, we know how to fight against every injustice.
Share your country birth history with us.
The former name of Bangladesh was East Pakistan, this country was under the present Pakistan. The people of Bangladesh stood against the exploitation of West Pakistan in Bangabandhu's speech of March 7, 1971. Declaring war against West Pakistan and all classes of people of Bangladesh fought in the name of Bangabandhu at the cost of 30 lakh lives and the honor of 2 lakh mothers and sisters, this country got a taste of independence on 16th December 1971. India helped in this independence war of Bangladesh.
Independent Bangladesh made its debut on December 16, 1971.
How much do you love your country and what do you want your country to look like?
I love my country very much and want to see this country as a developed country. Bangladesh is a non-communal country where people of every religion can live freely. I want to stop corruption and see prosperity in every sector of Bangladesh.
Economic prosperity where every person will have employment. Poverty will be reduced and standard of living will improve. There will be infrastructural development including education, health services. Every people will get justice and cultural traditions will be preserved and celebrated. There will be secularism and people of every religion will have freedom to practice their religion. Above all, we want a corruption-free Bangladesh.
What do you think we need to do to develop and improve a country?
A multi-pronged approach should be included to develop a country. Transparent governance is very important for the development of a country. This governance system must ensure transparency as well as accountability. Anti-corruption measures should be taken to stop corruption and build public confidence. For a country to prosper, the rule of law must ensure equal application to its citizens. Strengthening the judiciary and conducting impartial proceedings.
Education is the backbone of a nation There is no substitute for education to develop a country. Environment for education and research should be created so that innovation and quality learning environment is created.
Ensuring better health care and providing equal medical care to all citizens. Also for a developed country, attention should be paid to all activities including keeping the environment beautiful, cultural practices, religious activities so that no discrimination is created.
Good luck to you.
I wish you well
