Follow me below as I give a review of one of my favourite food garri and eru. I hope you all find pleasure in reading through this masterpiece.

What is the name of the special food?

There are several special delicacies in my country and making a choice of a special meal is difficult because all the food are special.

However, one of those meals that I can say it is somehow special is eru and garri. This is one of the specials which is widely eaten all over Cameroon.

Where did you eat this food? Or if you have a recipe, you can share it.

I always prepare my meals by myself. I hate eating at restaurants because I’m not sure of the process in preparing the meal.

Of course, I’m gonna share a brief recipe for this meal. I will begin by listing the ingredients need which included; water leaf, eru, palm oil, salt/Maggi, beef, canda, crayfish and garri.

The first step is you first washed your meat and canda and boiled till it get ready. Removed it and kept aside.

The second step, you washed your eru with cold water and some salt and drained in a colander.

The third step, you take your water leaf, removed the flowers and sliced into desirable sizes. Washed it and also drained all the water.

Sliced water leaf and washed ready to be boiled.

You boiled the water leaf for few minutes and then add the washed eru. Stir it to mixed up well and then add your crayfish, salt to taste and Maggi, and add the boiled meat and canda. The last thing to add is palm oil.

Eru almost getting ready as all the ingredients are in.

After putting all the ingredients, stir it up so that all the ingredients can mixed well. Allow the pot at low heat to seamer for about 30 minutes. Stir it up abit and the eru is ready to be served.

Then I boiled water and poured it in a bowl and pour garri inside. Cover the bowl and allow it for about 5 minutes. Stir it and it’s ready to be served with the eru.

Why is this food the most special food you eat in your life?

There are several reasons why I loved this meal which is a traditional delicacy from the South West region of Cameroon. I am a lover of vegetable soup and eru is a vegetable soup very healthy for our body. Eru is very rich in vitamins, proteins, fiber, etc and medicinal as well.

The water leaf in the eru has antioxidants and is also rich in calcium to build our bones stronger. Therefore, I love this meal because it is healthy and as well medicinal.

And why would you encourage everyone to eat this food?

As I earlier said above, eru is a vegetable soup and is medicinal as well rich with calcium, proteins, fiber, minerals, etc. I would encourage everyone to try it out and you will not regret but yearn to eat more.

Everyone likes to eat that special meal that will keep them healthy and eru is that meal you should take often. It boosts your appetite and you will keep requesting for more.

This is the end of my presentation and I will invite @saxopedia, @rafk, @gracielia and @josepha to share ideas with us about this topic.

There's no much different between this soup and our Nigerian Afang soup, but the outcome I mean the face is what I don't like. Good to know how to prepare Cameroonian Eru soup.

Do you mean you do not like a fang soup or the eru? Thank you for your time reading through my content.

The face of the Eru soap

But you love afang soup?

Yes ,very well.

Then you will obviously like eru because there is no much difference. I have eaten all and the two are the same because we use the same ingredients.

Honorable @chant mam,,

It is really a difficult task to single out the most special dish from our vast list of dishes. Because each kabab is different from the other due to its unique taste, aroma and nutritional value. presented to us. which are made of nutrient rich ingredients like water leaf, krifis, meat. which meet our body's needs of protein, vitamins and fiber and help to strengthen the heart. Also you mentioned that it is popular all over Cameroon as well as the food in terms of taste. incomparable

Thank you so much for sharing such a delicious and nutritious dish with us. I wish you the best in this competition. Stay well.

@nasir04

Eru has a unique taste and aroma and the nutritional value is incomparable to other meals. Thank you for the support.

My pleasure 🥰

Your choice of food which is called eru and garri. Which is one of the specials food which is widely eaten in your country Cameron. I must say this your specialty looks exactly like our popular sumptuous afang soup eaten widely in my country too. Probably it might be the same delicacy but different names. And coincidentally we also cook the food using water leaf, meat and canda. And it will come out so nice after the process of preparation. Best of luck

There is lot of similarities between Cameroon foods and Nigerian foods especially delicacies from the South West region of Cameroon as they boarders Nigeria. They share a common delicacies. I’m sure eru is similar to afang since we use the same ingredients.

Have noticed that, you are right

Greeting my friend,

This is my dad favorite soup. Cameroon are the major exporter of this leaves called eru (okazi). I like eating it, but find it difficult to prepare. Thanks for the invite and success to you.

Has your dad been to Cameroon? I had Nigerian friends when I was at the University of Johannesburg and they loved Okazi a lot. One of the Nigerian soup I enjoyed with them was oha. Thank you for the support.

Yeah he has been to Cameroon before. Okazi leave is very common in Ikom town which is about 25 kilometres drive to Cameroon.

No doubt because most Nigerians here in Cameroon can testify eru is unique in taste and aroma.

Hello @chant, garri and eru are one of the most special dishes that are enjoyed in Cameroon. It is better to prepare the food at home because we are not sure about the preparation process. Best of all, as you mention, ero is medicinal because it contains vitamins. and fibers.

Good luck in the dynamics.

Eru is medicinal and I’m sure it is one of the reasons why it is widely eaten in Cameroon due to its nutritional value. Thank you for wishing well for the contest.
