Discrimination according to Wikipedia can be defined as the process of making unfair or prejudicial distinctions between people based on the groups, classes, or other categories to which they belong or are perceived to belong, such as race, gender, age, religion, physical attractiveness or sexual orientation.

Have you ever been discriminated against? Or saw someone being discriminated against?

Yes I have been discriminated many times and which I will share with you all one of my discrimination experience I remembered.....when I relocated from Cross River State to Enugu State newly I wasn't familiar with the place and people living there, but I have no option than be staying indoor like an introvert which was never my lifestyle, a week passed and I could not continue to bear it any longer I decided to go out and look for where there are playing football so that I will join them because football was one my major hobbies that I enjoy so much.
When I got to the field I saw some boys there waiting for others to come so that there will begin their usual training, so I approach them and we greeted and exchange identity, which I sat with them for sometimes, when others came they where total 19 of them instead of 22 that makes up two teams, so my taught was that they will include me so that I will make the 20 which should be at least manageable but they said I should go sit down that I don't know how to Play football even when I prove it to them by showing them some skills I got but that doesn't change their mind, so I respected myself and sit down knowing fully well that I was discriminated because I'm new there, the part that pains me most is when one of them got injured instead of me to replace the person they preffered playing short one.

What will be your steps to prevent discrimination?

In most cases most of us normally come across discrimination and prejudice in one way or the other which is very bad and unfair so definitely they should be steps to prevent it, which are as follows

  • Since discrimination can be prevented by educating and training citizens (people) concerning or about what composes discrimination, which I will try my possible best to let people know about the negative of discrimination by educating them.
  • Also by increasing awareness about our different regions that's to say respecting religious and cultural practices will help prevent discrimination.
  • For discrimination to eradicated and prevented we need to have an equality and diversity in our homes, work place, religious and worship centers etc.
  • Since illiteracy and unemployment can cause a chronic discrimination which should try our best to maintain the space and distance between the illiterate and illiterate as well as the employ and unemploy ones.

People for people. Explain the statement

In my own understanding it means that we are all humans we should love one another irrespective of the group, race, gender, age, religion, physical attractiveness or sexual orientation etc that person have or belongs to.

Give some advice to the discriminators.

  • Speak up don't be afraid or shy to speak for your self when your are prejudice or discriminated
  • since well-being is another way in fighting against discrimination, that means we need to stay healthy and safe from all kinds issues and problem coming our way.
  • staying close to people you love and as well as people who loves you to avoid been discriminated and prejudice.
  • Don't let anyone intimidates you or torture you when you know your right.
           Conclusion

Discrimination is very bad and it really affecting our community and country in such a way that many people has committed suicide and other crimes because of it, so we to come together as one nation or community to fight and kicks it out of our mix

I have come to the end of this amazing contest which I will like to invite my fellow steemians @dipi2024 @ahmneska @joslud to take part in this contest thanks
