Pui Shak\Malabar spinach seeds recipe with prawns

Usually, this Pui Shak/Malabar spinach can be planted around the house. They are available to buy in the market throughout the year. While buying from the market and cooking, if the discarded hard stem is buried in the ground, leaves grow from the beautiful hard stem This creeping plant grows easily and does not need any extra care. Only if occasional spots appear on the leaves, then a little fungicide spray is all that is needed.

So while cooking that day, I thought I would share the recipe,

Today I have shared the recipe of the Pui Shak flower. This recipe is my favorite food, so delicious that I eat it alone. When the flower part is ripe seeds are hard so my boys don't eat it. And when cooked it has a beautiful deep pink color which turns the greens pinkish when cooked. Then when eaten with plain rice the recipe turns pinkish in color and looks quite beautiful. It is also delicious and full of nutrients.

Not to mention its nutritional value before sharing the recipe-

So I gave a detailed description about its nutritional value.

Pui Shak is rich in vitamins A, B, C, iron and calcium and has anti-inflammatory properties. Pui Shak is rich in vitamins and helps to prevent disease and improve the beauty of the skin. Being rich in fiber, it removes constipation and removes waste from the body. It prevents stomach and colon cancer.image.png

In addition, Pui Shak flowers and seeds are rich in folic acid Zinc and Anti-oxidants, which increase the activity of sperm. Also, the seeds of Pui Shak are useful for piles and fistula diseases.

It is not only rich in nutrients when cooked, but raw Puishak is very useful. Especially if the roots of Puishak are applied to any injured and swollen part of the body, benefits are obtained.


Disadvantages of Puishak


Puishak should be avoided by those who have allergies and people with kidney and gallbladder problems should consult their doctor. Puishak is rich in Oxalate, so eating it in excess increases the amount of oxalate in the body fluids, so the doctor forbids eating it.


All the ingredients I need for cooking-

Turmeric powder1/4 tsp
Chilli powder1/2 tsp
Coriander powder1/4 tsp
Salt1/2 tsp
Green chilies3
Onion Chopped1
Garlic Chopped1 small
Prawnsas desire
Cooking oil1 tbsp
Coriander leavesa pinch of

Cooing time


First, cut the seeds of Puishak and wash them well with clean water. Now in a pan on the gas stove, I will put the puishak and spices with powdered masala and salt and then boil it with enough water.Then cover it with a spoon until it boils, when the water dries up, take it off the gas stove.

Then fry the prawns with a little oil in another pan and fry them with salt and then fry them again with garlic, onion and green chillies. When the onion and garlic are a little brown, I will pour the boiled seeds in the pan. And when the water dries up by stirring, I will dry the water and give a little sugar so that the bitterness of Puishak goes away.

After that, shake it a little with chopped coriander leaves and pour it in another bowl and serve it. It is ready.

Now it is ready. Puishak seeds recipe with prawns and fish makes this recipe delicious. When I cooked it, it was so tasty that I ate the whole thing.

Shrimp recipe with Puishak seeds looks great. It is actually very healthy. I didn't eat much of it though. When I was a child I extracted red dye from the ripe seeds of the pui plant and caused mischief by putting it on many people's cheeks. Seeing ripe seeds in your hands, I wanted to spread red paint with my hands.

Thank you for giving a nice review on this post of mine. I actually don't like puishak vegetables that much but whenever its seeds are available in the market my husband buys them and brings them to cook. So thought of sharing the recipe while cooking.

আসসালামু আলাইকুম আপু। পুঁইশাকের বিচি আমরা সাধারণত শুটকি দিয়ে খাই। আবার ইলিশ মাছ দিয়েও ভালো লাগেকিন্তু চিংড়ি মাছ দিয়ে কখনো খাওয়া হয়নি। চিংড়ি মাছ দিয়ে আপনার এই পুঁইশাক রেসিপি টি দেখতে খুবই সুস্বাদু লাগছে।আর রান্নার ধরণ টাও ছিল একটু আলাদা এবং দুর্দান্ত।
