What is the national festival of your country? How did it start

Basically I live in Pakistan and majority in Pakistan belongs from Islam religion and overall national festival of Pakistan being a Muslim country is Eid and there are two types of Eid.Eid ul fitr and Eid ul azha but here I am going to share Eid ul adha. If I talk about history and start of this festival then it is 100 of decades ago and this festival is celebrated by reminding the sacrifice of Ibrahim prophet.

How is this festival celebrated? Are there any special rules for celebrating it?

Eid ul adha is one of the most great religious and national festival of my country and it is celebrated by sacrificing an animal who is mature and halal animals including cow ,buffalo, camel ,goat ,sheep and lamb are sacrificed in the way of Allah and by reminding sacrifice of Ibrahim alaihe Salam.

After sacrifice of these animals meat is distributed in 3 equal parts and one part is specified for family members and one part is distributed among relatives and one part is for needy people and these are the special and essential rules for celebrating.

Are there any special outfits or foods for celebrating your national festival?

It is not in my religion and religiously it is not essential to wear some special outfits at this festival for its celebration but people in my country loves to wear cultural dresses so it seems very good to wear cultural dresses at this national festival celebration.

If I talk about men then mostly they like to wear salwar kameez and women mostly like to wear shirt 🎽 Capri and frocks etc and it seems very good when different people in my country wear different type of their dresses.

Tell us about your favorite memory from celebrating your national festival.

My favourite memory is definitely many years back when I was very little and then I tried a lot at sacrifice of my sheep because within two weeks just before her sacrifice I fall in love with my animal and I don't want to lose my sheep that's why I was crying but that was a childish but cute behaviour as I was also little.

That was one of my most favourite and memorable event.

Hello @sahar78! Thank you for sharing with us Eid al-Adha in Pakistan, which commemorates the sacrifice of the Prophet Abraham. This festival is characterized by the slaughter of halal animals, where their meat is distributed equally among family, relatives and the needy, with an emphasis on sharing and charity. Traditional clothes like salwar kameez for men and different dresses for women add cultural richness to the celebration. Your personal memories of feeling attached to the sheep you raised highlight the emotional depth of the festival. It is wonderful to see how deeply rooted this festival is in both religious significance and community engagement! Good luck in the contest!

It is because of the sacrifice of a goat instead of the child of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) that Allah accepts our sacrifice through animal sacrifice, otherwise we would not have come to this world if the child was sacrificed. Allah likes this favorite thing of your childhood, the sheep sacrifice. That's why we try to sacrifice domesticated animals instead of buying sacrificial animals at home.

Good luck
