Greetings Dear Steemit,


In Steemit Learning Challenge Season 21, the sixth or last lesson, I got another great idea about dessert. In today's class, through @dasudi Mam and @lirvic mam, we learned about the concept, different flavors and preparation of delicious flan dessert. In today's class, we also learned about different variations of flan flavors—coffee flan, chocolate flan, and coconut flan. You can also add fruit juice or dry fruits according to taste. As of today's class, I am ready to submit my homework.

The answer to your question is "Yes." I make flan at home. In Bangladesh, flan dessert is known as a #pudding dessert item. My kids love to eat pudding. Sometimes I have to make pudding dessert for them.

Tell us about your experience.

I have a good experience in making pudding desserts. This item was not good the first few times. But now I can make very nice pudding. You can say that I have skilled hands in making pudding. Everyone likes the pudding I make. So when the kids don't want to eat milk or eggs, I make pudding. It makes their food more fun. The jiggly texture melts in your mouth; I also love funky puddings. As you can see, I have a lot of experience in making puddings.

Today I will be making caramel pudding or egg custard pudding. This dessert can be made by almost anyone. But is there always a perfect pudding? A perfect caramel egg pudding means a fluffy, spongy texture that melts in your mouth.


🧾Let's see the ingredients required to make the perfect pudding:

250 grams of milk. Two eggs. Sugar as per taste. 50 grams of powdered milk. Half a teaspoon of vanilla essence.

Now see the preparation method.


First prepare the caramel

To make caramel,
Four spoons of sugar + two spoons of water.

  • First, mix the sugar and water well in a pan. Once mixed, heat the stove. Heat it on medium heat. It will slowly turn light brown. Occasionally turn the pot with your hands, but do not stir the mixture with a spoon.

  • When the caramel is the perfect color, remove it from the stove and set it in a pudding mold.

Prepare the milk mixture:

To make the milk mixture, cook 500 grams of milk and reduce it by half. Then cool it by stirring. However, the milk should not be completely cold but should be used lukewarm.

  • Now beat the two eggs. You do not need to beat them too much. If you beat them too much, excess bubbles will come out. Then beat them again with sugar and powdered milk. Until the sugar dissolves.

  • Now slowly pour the lukewarm milk and mix it together well. Now add the vanilla essence.

  • Now, before pouring this mixture into the caramel-setting pot, strain it through a sieve. This will help you get a very smooth pudding. If there are any egg whites or milk solids stuck to them, they will separate.

Now, place the pudding pot in a large pan of boiling hot water. Add enough water to submerge the pudding pot one-third of the way.

  • Now, cover the pan and cook on medium heat for 30 minutes. Overheating will cause small holes to form around the pudding and the pudding will not be soft.

  • After 30 minutes, test with a stick. My pudding is perfect. Now remove from the oven.

  • Now put it in the fridge for an hour and let it cool down thoroughly. Do not pour very hot or warm pudding, as this often causes the pudding to break.

  • Now when it is completely cool, loosen the sides with a knife and pour it into a serving bowl, and the delicious caramel pudding dessert is ready.

I used to be able to make puddings at first, but the dough would break during kneading. Or the sugar would have burned and turned bitter during the caramel making. This problem is no longer there. Now you can easily make delicious pudding.

The caramel color will be a beautiful light, there will be no bitterness, and most importantly, there will be no holes around the pudding. Not a single one. There are some important tips for making light cream colored pudding. :

  • First of all, the measurements of the ingredients must be correct.

  • Beat the eggs and sugar lightly. If you beat too much, excess bubbles will rise and the pudding will not be perfect.

  • Of course, you have to strain the egg and milk mixture once with a strainer.

  • And the most important tip is that the pudding cannot be overcooked in any way. No matter how many tips you follow, if you cook it again, there will be holes around the pudding.

Saludos cordiales. Tu forma de preparación del flan es un poco distinta a la que estamos acostumbrados en mi país, aunque los ingredientes sean exactamente los mismos para un flan clásico. Al final el resultado parece el mismo.

Te quedó muy bello, el color del caramelo está precioso y se desmoldó perfectamente, el flan se ve cremoso. Conozco personas que les gusta este postre con huequitos jejeje, pero a otros les gusta más cremoso, todo está en la cocción como bien explicas.
