SEC-S6W2: "I Am a Teacher | Imparting Knowledge Makes me Happy

Good day, Steemains. I'm so excited to be here and participate in the contest organized by this community with the topic "I Am A Teacher", join me as I share my teaching experience with you all.

A teacher can be defined as someone who teaches and impart knowledge to another person or people. We have people that choose to teach as their profession, and that is what they do for a living, they teach students in all kinds of schools, preparatory, primary, secondary, and tertiary to give the student a better tomorrow and groom them in their career journey.

Teaching does not only end in school or in the classroom, all parents are teachers too, in fact, mothers are the first teacher kids has as they teach them first, examples of that is when parents teaches them how to greet, speak, show appreciation, and so on. Parents' teaching do not stop when the kids start going to school, they still teach and guide them all through their education journey, by revising with them, explaining their homework questions to them, and so on.

Furthermore, siblings are teachers to their younger ones, as they guide them by teaching them and explaining the topics the younger ones find difficult to understand as they have experience with the topics before. Today, I will be discussing with you the set of people I teach or have taught and the challenges I faced teaching.

I can boldly say I am a teacher even though I don't do teaching for a living but I have been a great teacher to my siblings, my two cousins, and some of my colleagues when we were in school. Even now I do teach our IT students at work about our profession.

I love teaching all these people because I do feel happy to see them performing well in their academics, and knowing I can help and impart knowledge to them does make me feel joyous. My teaching starts as a kid helping my siblings with their assignments and explaining the areas they find difficult.

Also, I do create study time with my cousins so that I can teach them, check through their work, ask questions to know the area they are having difficulties with, and tutor them in a way they will understand.

When I was in school, 8 of my colleague came to me and asked me to be their tutor, so we formed a tutorial and group reading class where I tutored them, give them an assignment and ask them a question as well go through the syllabus and lastly I prepared them for our national examination which qualifies us to be licensed. I prepared them for the examination by treating a series of past questions.

At my two former places of work, I taught some of our IT students about the profession. I can say all of them do enjoy my teaching and appreciate my efforts though I can be somehow demanding when teaching but they all realized it's worth it in the end.

Though I'm not a teacher by profession, I do ensure I study from time to time to broaden my knowledge and have more understanding about the topics, I do read textbooks and do research both online and by asking my senior colleagues or lecturers to have a better understanding and be at my best when teaching the topics.

Though higher education is quite expensive, I still think everyone should go through higher education because there is more to learn from it, it is one of the tickets to a better future because one would learn beyond the academics syllabus. We experience personal development such as having a healthy communication in every situation, teamwork, and our relationship with others. We learn more, get a deep understanding, and choose a career specialization and our preparations for the career comes from there.

God will bless everyone so that they can go for their higher education as it helps the children a lot even though there are not many employment opportunities, higher education is very essential even to those going into entrepreneurship.

Teaching is an important profession because it is a mother to other professions and teachers are to be greatly appreciated. I do feel happy anytime I teach and impart knowledge to another person, seeing my student excelling is a joyous thing to me. When my colleagues that I taught came to me with gratitude because my teaching helped them a lot, I felt so happy and proud.

Furthermore, teaching broadens my knowledge and understanding too because as I study to teach, I get to understand the topic more. Thank you for reading my post today.
