Sec-s17w1: season of my country

Hello friends from all over the world how are you all doing as for me I'm great I am so excited to participate in this contest and this is my first time of making a post here in this community. Follow along as I tell you the two seasons in my country.

How many seasons is in your country? Which one is your favorite and why?

Before I go on Nigeria is my country and it is situated in West Africa we have two major seasons which are the rainy season and the dry season the rainy season occurs during the month of April to October and as a matter of facts we in Nigeria especially in the south south are beginning to experience rainy season. While the dry season begins from November to March. The period of raining season is characterized by high and heavy rain fall and wind. And the dry season is characterized by high harmattan wind and also sunshine.

Talking about my favorite season it is dry season. You might ask me why,here are my reasons. The dry season usually brings about lots of outdoor activities. Also dry season reduces flood and reduces the risk of family dying from flood and others. During the dry season most of the diseases we get in contact during the rainy season is reduces. Another reason I love dry season is because it's promote tourism where tourist are attracted to come into Nigeria and explore. Lastly the one I enjoyed most is being free to be moved from one place to another, without being disturbed by the rain.

If there was one season you wanted to skip forever, which one would it be? Explain the reason.

This is a bit difficult but the season I would love to skip will be the rainy season my reasons are as follows

In the aspect of our economy the economy will go down because of what the water will destroy in the farm. Again tourism activities will be reduced in a sense that no one would love to visit a place where there is flooding. Also another reason is that the government of our country cannot manage the flooding issues well although they are trying buy still there is flooding outbreak every year lives and property and even farm produce are lost as a result of flood. Also moving to the transportation side aircraft will not be accessible because of the bad weather Condition and also problem to motorist and also cyclist. Rainy season also comes with sickness like malaria, cough, cold and cattarh especially if your house is close to stagnant water. Another reason is that it makes millions of people to leave their own house to seek refuge in another place as well as displacement of families.

Describe a traditional or special activities that people in your country do during a particular season

Nigeria my country is alone or various and Rich cultures and tradition the festival I will be talking about his Calabar carnival which is celebrated yearly by the Calabar people. This carnival takes place during the dry season the carnival promotes economic gain to the nation and local community at large this carnival is characterized by dance music fashion festivity and food. People all over the world do also come and enjoy that period of festivity with us.

Are there any special food or drinks that people in your country enjoy most during certain seasons? If so what is it and why ?

My country is filled with lots of delicacies. There are some food for some certain seasons. Our special food is fried rice and chicken. This food is served at parties marriage and others but to mention a few. Family members do gather to enjoy this delicious food.
