I can so relate. My wonderful Polish husband could eat potatoes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and frequently does.
I love potatoes, but I rarely want them more than twice a week, if that. I'm okay with eating the same thing multiple times, but for me that means soups, salads, and more soups.
That said, I can't really bitch, because I've been working from home for so long that, for all intents and purposes, I've been sheltering in place for the past eight years and more. My daily life really hasn't changed all that much.
That said, like you, I get a bit tired of the holier-than-thou crowd, particularly since, in my neck of the woods, that usually means that they support Trump, whom I consider to be nothing more than a pretender, a grifter, an unpatriotic criminal, and a wastrel. Fie on that whole line of thinking.
I remember the stories from my parents and grandparents of the rationing they had to deal with in WWII, and can only marvel at how very lucky I am, as we have chickens and ducks laying eggs, I'm in the process of starting up our spring garden, and things could indeed be a whole lot worse.
Life is wonderful, and getting better, better, and better.
I think I may have already had COVID-19, but until we have widespread antibody testing, which means our Blatherer-in-Chief will finally have to do his f*cking job for once, it'll probably be a while before that's even possible.
In the meantime, I have lovely fantasies of him being perp walked out of the White House, in handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit, never to be seen or heard from again. I vote for giving him and his three eldest children their own family wing at Guantanamo. Hey, I can dream.
Anyway, I hope this finds you well, that you find your way to fresh veggies sooner rather than later, and that we all get through these trying times with style and class. Or at least with fresh green veggies. ;-)
Take care, and love you, my friend!
