My Honeymoon was in the Mérida state of Venezuela. A wonderful, romantic and special place that all Venezuelans want to know for so much beauty that is achieved there, its climate is cold and it has many tourist places to visit.

Mi Luna de Miel fue en el estado Mérida de Venezuela. Un lugar maravilloso, romántico y especial que todos los venezolanos queremos conocer por tanta belleza que se consigue allí, su clima es frío y tiene muchos lugares turísticos para visitar.

We spent a week in Mérida, where we were able to visit almost all of the most famous places it has, one of them being Mucuchies. Right there in the Moconoque sector you can see a very special monument, since it was made in honor of a dog.

Estuvimos una semana en Mérida, donde pudimos visitar casi todos los lugares más famosos que tiene, siendo uno de ellos Mucuchies. Justo allí en el sector Moconoque se puede apreciar un monumento muy especial, ya que fue hecho en honor a un perro.

It is the Monument to the Snowy Dog.

Se trata del Monumento al perro Nevado.

Nevado is a dog that was given to our Liberator Simón Bolivar in 1813, since then, this dog accompanied the liberator on his tours and battles. There was a close relationship between Bolívar and this dog in such a way that in the Battle of Carabobo (1821), Nevado also fought and unfortunately he was pierced by a spear that killed him.

Nevado es un perro que le regalaron a nuestro Libertador Simón Bolivar en el año 1813, desde entonces, este perro acompaño al libertador en sus recorridos y batallas. Existía una relación estrecha entre Bolívar y este perro de tal manera, que en la Batalla de Carabobo (1821), Nevado luchó también y lamentablemente fue atravesado por una lanza que le dió la muerte.

Nevado was a dog of the Mucuchies breed and in his honor, a social club was founded for the preservation of this breed and it was declared the national breed of dog in 1964.

Nevado era un perro de raza mucuchies y en su honor, se fundó un club social para la preservación de esta raza y fue declarada la raza de perro nacional en el año 1964
