Hello friends of steemit I was very interested in this contest because I have several instruments but the instrument that has more years with me is this cuatro and for those who do not know what a cuatro is here I will leave a concept.
The cuatro is an instrument of the guitar family. It is used throughout Latin America, but acquires a relevant role in the musical ensembles of countries like Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
This cuatro was given to me by my grandmother when I was 2 years old and when I was 4 years old my mom enrolled me in courses to play them and what I played the most were the maracas which is another instrument of Venezuelan folklore, my mom tells me that this cuatro is about 30 years old.
At the moment I haven't played it because I'm a bit busy with university stuff but when I have free time I'll learn to play it again.
