Working Online - confirmed ways to earn some money
In today's post, I will share my best practices for earning money via the Internet. In some of the presented methods, all you will need is a computer with access to the network, in others, the Internet is an important medium, but you will need additional tools to earn money. The second way of earning money is commonly known as the "sharing economy". I'm sure at least some of you have heard of it before.
Working as a text translator
It may not be a job that allows you to earn a lot of money, but if you know at least two languages well, you can easily make some extra cash by translating texts. You can find translation offers on your local job posting sites, but you should also check out some of the major international freelance websites. Examples:
- Lingy
- Proz
- Useme (this one is strictly about Polish - English translations)
You can earn up to $ 7-8 per A4 page on translating texts. The price depends on which language the text is to be translated into and whether it concerns a professional language. You can also request a higher price if you have more translation experience.
I was earning money this way a few years ago. I was translating texts for a while right after graduation. Currently, due to lack of time, I don't do it anymore.
Rewriting texts
Transcribing texts from recordings or handwritten notes onto your computer is quite a boring job, but it certainly allows you to earn a few dollars without leaving home. I do not know any specialized portals offering work of this type only, but it is quite easy to find announcements on portals with job offers. In Poland, the salary for rewriting the text is $ 1.20 - $ 2.50 per A4 page.
Work as a journalist
Writing articles for newspapers is a very exciting form of earning money, but it requires quite a lot of effort and commitment to finding an employer. In my life, I managed to sell a few articles, mainly for the "Zielone Wiadomości" newspaper, published in Poland. To sell any article, we need to develop a portfolio. This can be done by writing some good articles and submitting them to the editors with an offer to write something for them. It is best if we present the first few articles to any newspaper as a donation. If we are published, it will be easier for us to find a paid job.
Youtube Channel or Dtube
Honestly, I have not tried this form of earning money personally yet. I have my youtube channel, but it's private. I post some personal videos there. I don't have my followers group and I don't make money from advertising. However, my very good friend has a YouTube channel with jewelry-making workshops, and with several thousand followers, she earns quite enough every month.
If you intend to earn money as a YouTuber, remember that the most money you can earn right now is ... by playing games and making streams. Seems to be a pretty simple business idea.
When you plan to publish videos and build a follower base, it is worth considering an alternative to youtube - Dtube. It is a decentralized portal connected to cryptocurrencies (including STEEM), allowing authors to earn by up-votes.
Steemit
Of course, Steemit needs no introduction. We all know that we can get paid by publishing posts, participating in contests, and up-voting the content of others. We are already aware of all of this BUT ... did you know that thanks to Steem Skillshare you can also earn money by teaching other users any online skills? You can prepare language lessons, maths tutoring, or DIY workshops and earn some cash without leaving your home.
Also, thanks to my Steem-Travelers community, you will soon be able to earn STEEM in three additional ways:
- On the 10th of October, we are starting the "Stay with Travelers" program, which will allow renting a flat, room, or bed in a shared room in exchange for a STEEM payment.
- On the 20th of October, we are starting the "Work with Travelers" program, which will allow you to get accommodation, food, and sometimes a few pocket STEEM in exchange for some volunteer work

On-line sale
It is not directly earning money via the Internet but earning money that would not be possible without the Internet. Thanks to the marketplace on Facebook and many websites such as eBay or locally Olx, mercadolibre, allegro, and others, we can sell our art, advertise with workshops, or even sell homemade food products. While living in Chile, I was selling homemade bread and jams that way.
Sharing economy
Finally, I present to you a few other ways to earn money that are possible only thanks to the Internet.
- You can rent a room or flat to others using Airbnb or Misterbandb.
- When driving to work or going on vacation, you can take an extra passenger and earn a few dollars with carpoolear or blablacar
- You can earn extra money by driving with Uber
- You can make money by cooking for others thanks to travelingspoon
