This photograph is clicked at the Clock tower in Murshidabad. We visited there last Sunday.

There was a time when clocks were not easily available for the common people. Clocks were imported for Europe and cost very high price in India. Hence, it was almost impossible for the people to afford personal clock or watch.

The Nawabs of Murshidabad has established this clock tower for the benefit of the people living in the area.

This clock tower is established at the central of the Murshidabad and it is in the court premise of Nawabs, in front of the famous Hazarduari palace.

To rech Murshidabad, international travelers need to fly to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) in Kolkata. Kolkata is one of the major cities of India. From Kolkata, Murshidabad can be reached by train or by road using car / bus. Winter months (November to February) are the perfect time to visit Murshidabad.
