What is plagiarism?

When you claim ownership of someone else's work and act as if it were your own, you are committing plagiarism.Plagiarism is a serious offence that should never be committed. Plagiarism also suggests that the plagiarist is a phoney, harming the plagiarist's reputation.

Types of plagiarism

They are many different types of plagiarism

1:Direct Plagiarism
2:Mosaic Plagiarism
3:Complete plagiarism
4:Self-plagiarism

1.Direct Plagiarism
Is the act of plagiarising someone work or a quote without properly attributing the sources.

2.MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

This sort of plagiarism is the most common and accidental. This is simply when someone takes/borrows someone else's content (quote, etc.) without enclosing the sentence with quotation marks.

3.SELF PLAGIARISM

When you use an old/prior work for any form of new achievement or for new purposes without first receiving permission from the receiver of the previous work you did, you are committing self plagiarism.

4.Complete plagiarism

When I take someone study and present it under my own name, this is referr to as plagiarism.

How to Avoid plagiarism

Always make a note of where you got the information you used in your work. You must read and digest a subject independently in order to express it in your own words..One way students plagiarise is through forgetting.By remembering a few points, you can avoid plagiarism in your writing. Plagiarism can be avoided by using appropriate wording and adhering to a few standards. I'm going to give you some advice that will be really beneficial to you.

Quote and paraphrase

If you wish to transmit a notion or piece of information from a source in your work. You should must other paraphrase or quote the real text.

Cite your source

It is highly important that you make a good reference to the external source you obtained whatever sentence, paragraph or image in your work.

Citation

Citation is the practise of mentioning the author and the text's link so that a reader may easily conduct additional research because citation informs a reader that a portion of your content is not your own.
For Example
I write own words,
( your readers tend to understand more on the topic by clicking on those links to read the complete article of your cited author.)

I have read and understand steemit etiquette on steemit community,I will do my best to embrace them.

Thanks for your time
