Plagiarism is the act of passing on someone else's work as your own. For instance, a user using another writer's ideas and putting them into their own articles and failing to credit the original writer.
Plagiarism has many forms which include;

COMPLETE PLAGIARISM
This is when a user posts another writer's work in their name without even making any changes. It is also known as copy and paste.

PARAPHRASING PLAGIARISM
This is when a user takes portions of another writer's work and uses it without acknowledging the original author.

SELF PLAGIARISM
A user submits the same article in different communities presenting it as a new article in each community.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM
It may occur as an act of omission after using someone else's work and failing to cite the source appropriately.

HIRED PLAGIARISM
This can involve paying money to another person to write up an article or buying ideas.

Avoiding plagiarism is important because without it in the picture, a user is able to explore their creative side and be authentic in their writings.

How to prevent plagiarism
• A user needs to understand plagiarism, it's types and effects inorder for him/her to produce plagiarism-free content.
