Types of Plagiarism

There are 7 types of plagiarism identified on the extent of content used

Complete Plagiarism

This is the type in which you take someones work completely to present it as your own work. For example you take the research paper of someone else and submit it as your own research

Direct Plagiarism

It is the type much similar to complete plagiarism but the thing the make it different is the content taken in direct plagiarism only a specific portion is taken. For example to use two or three lines in your work without any citation.

Paraphrasing plagiarism

Its the type in which someones statement is changes just by using different words and the sequence of lines. Its the most common type of plagiarism used.

Self Plagiarism

Self plagiarism occurs when the work done by yourself some times ago is used again in another work. If the source is cited properly then it can be refrained.

Patchwork Plagiarism

Its the amalgam of stolen and original work. When the content taken from any other persons work is in mosaic with the original wording is called patchwork plagiarism.

Source based Plagiarism

In this the source is given but its presented in a wrong way as the primary one is credited more than the secondary source also the irrelevant source is provided in it.

Accidental Plagiarism

Unintentionally plagiarized content in which the writer forget to cite the source or cite incorrectly.

How to avoid Plagiarism

Firstly to avoid the plagiarism we should use the citation in a correct way.
To learn the good writing skills and the best ways to present your ideas in a proper way
Quote and paraphrase the content properly

Citation

"Citation is the way to convey the exact source of a specific information or content"
For example if I give the exact wording as source from which I have taken the content

“Presenting work or ideas from another source as your own, with or without consent of the original author, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement
