This is my Introduction Post
Hi folks & my friends!
I hope you all are well and in good health. I stepped out from the Steem platform for some time after my introduction, as you know that the present recession is at its peak, so I had to focus on my job with full consciousness. Now I'm here again with the same energy and the same intensity.
My goal in this post is to explain the different types of keys associated with Steemit. Please stay with me and thanks for your time.
The keys are the passwords or unique keys that permit the owner to perform certain tasks on their Steemit account. These keys are the same as passwords, which are private and are no longer to be shared with anyone. For security purposes, make sure your keys are stored in a secure location that may be retrieved easily. This will prevent unauthorized access to, or vandalization of, your account.
Question 1- Have you retrieved all your keys on Steemit?
Yes, I have retrieved all my keys from Steemit. Since joining the Steemit platform, I have completed this task as first priority. A copy of all my account's non-public keys was stored on my Google Drive and in hard copy as well. My Steemit keys are even stored on my PC so that no one can access them.
Question2- Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
The Master Key: The Master key is provided to you during sign-up and should be saved securely since it can be used to unlock all the keys of your account, including the owner key.
The Active Key: This key is used to move funds, power up and down transactions, change Steem dollars, vote for witnesses, update profile information, and place marketplace orders. Basically, using this key users can access their wallets. So it is good to share it not with anyone. It is like some extra personal things.
The Memo key: The Memo key's used for encrypting and decrypting memos whilst moving funds.
The Owner Key: The simplest purpose of an owner key is to use it when needed. This is the most powerful key because it can extract any account key. Its main function is to restore a compromised account.
The Posting key: The posting key allows the owner/user to post, comment, edit, vote, rate, and follow or mute other users. It is also recommended that owners log in with their own posting keys.
Question 3- How do you plan to keep your master password?
In my Google Drive, I keep notes about my master password. In addition, I have stored the PDF of the keys in my Google Drive. You should not share either of these things with anyone, as they are both very private and vital
Question 4- Do you know how to transfer your Steem token to another Steem user account?
Yes, I am aware of how to move a Steem token to another Steem user's account. I've included a few steps below.
(1) First, using the active key, log in/access your wallet.
(2) Click the Steem icon that appears in your account (for me it is 0.738 Steem). Next, select Transfer.
(3) The platform will inquire as to how much Steem you want to send. Put in the username first, then the amount and memo (if any).
(4) Click on Next
(5) Next, Click on OK.
Eventually, the Steem will be moved to another Steem user's account.
Question 5- Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Yes, I am aware of how to power up my STEEM. I've included a few steps below.
(1) First, using the active key, log in/access your wallet.
(2) Click the Steem icon that appears in your account (for me it is 0.728 Steem). Next, select Power Up.
(3) Next, Enter the amount that you want to power up, then hit the Power Up button.
(4) Hit the OK.
The Steem will ultimately be powered up, and will be displayed in your SP Count after a while.
Thank you
