Hi Friends 😘,.

I am hoping from you a very good and enjoying life in this era of your age. My name is Muhammad Asif and I am working on task 3 of my achievements which basically is an awareness about the plagiarism in the written content.

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism actually is that piece of writing which is copied from another author’s writing without his permission, consent or knowledge. It is a criminal activity and steps should be taken to avoid plagiarists from doing this act. In general it finishes the reputation of the plagiarists as it is a type of stealing that is crime.

Types of Plagiarism

(1)Verbatim plagiarism
(2)Paraphrasing plagiarism
(3) Mosaic plagiarism
(4) Self-plagiarism
(5)Complete Plagiarism

(1) Verbatim plagiarism

Copying text from a source into your document, and failing to use quotation marks and citation, results in verbatim plagiarism. To avoid plagiarizing sources you want to quote, you must use quotation marks and an in-text citation or a footnote citation.

##(2) Paraphrasing plagiarism
Paraphrasing, which means re-writing someone else’s work and calling it your own without attribution, is a type of plagiarism that many people don’t recognize. Even if you paraphrase someone’s work, you need to cite the person that originated the idea.
Paraphrasing plagiarism is harder to detect because it is not a word-for-word quote of someone’s work. That said, it is still serious to take someone else’s ideas.

(3) MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

There is another type of plagiarism which is unintentional. In this case, the plagiarist may have mentioned the source of the content he has referred to. But, if he/she does not acknowledge the quoted part or put them under the quotation marks correctly, then the writer commits the crime of plagiarism.

(4) SELF PLAGIARISM

Self-plagiarism is one of the common types of plagiarism, where high school students copy and paste part of their previously submitted academic paper. If the student submits the same paper for two different class projects without asking the concerned teacher, then that is considered as self-plagiarism.

(5) Complete plagiarism

When I take someone else’s study and present it under my own name, this is referred to as plagiarism. This involves copying and pasting the original work in its exact words. The only thing that is changed is the author’s name.

How to Avoid plagiarism

Avoiding plagiarism is paramount as a writer because it compromises your integrity. Aside from losing the respect of your mentors and peers, it could cost you valuable professional referrals and future career advancement.

Citation

When alluding to an idea or wording that’s not your own, add a citation in your writing that identifies the full name of the source, the date it was published, and any other citation element that’s required by the style guide you’re adhering to.

Quotation

If you insert a source’s words into your writing, verbatim, one of the simplest yet obvious ways to avoid plagiarism is by using quotation marks around the text to denote that the words aren’t your own. A direct quote should also cite the source so that readers know who the quote is from.

Paraphrase

Paraphrasing is rewriting a source’s ideas or information into your own words, without changing its meaning. But be careful—paraphrasing can slip into plagiarism if done incorrectly.

Present your own idea

Instead of parroting the source’s ideas or words, explore what you have to say about it. Ask yourself what unique perspective or point you can contribute in your writing that’s entirely your own. Keep in mind that if you’re alluding to a source’s ideas or words to frame your own point, you’ll still need to apply the guidelines above to avoid plagiarizing

According to the principles of gravity, whatever goes up must inevitably come down.

Conclusion

I have read and understand steemit etiquette on steemit community, I will do my best to embrace them.
