Etiquette according to my gathered knowledge means well-to-do mannerisms that are highly respected and approved of , the flip side of that coin is shunned and is unapproved of ; lack of etiquette that is .

On the Steemit platform , Plagiarism is highly unapproved of and could lead to removal of content and deletion of an individual's account.

What is plagiarism?

This is the act of taking ones idea, creativity, writing, painting, article, blog, product or service with whom the person has a right to and posing it as your own.
This is important to Steem as a community because of the wide nature of its articles, where one can copyexactly what someone else has done

Why does Plagiarism matter?

Plagiarism matters because it gives honour and credence to the original owner of a thought, concept, idea or creative work.

It matters because when one has a creative original idea, they can take due credit for their work which we all aim to do someday .
This is the point and entire purpose of brain concept; real and original ideas written and shared in Steem by its owner or at least referenced to the real owners.

For example,
"Matter is neither created nor destroyed but is changed from one form to another" which is the first law of thermodynamics was first created by late Rudolf Clausius and William Thomson .

Or

Matter is neither created nor destroyed but is changed from one form to another said Rudolf Clausius and William Thomson

Forms of Plagiarism ( with paraphrases )

1. Direct Plagiarism:

This is Word for word ( copy and paste) without asking for authorization or quotation usually with the intent to not cite the published source

2 . Paraphrasing without citing

3 Direct "Patchwork" Plagiarism :

This entails grabbing different ideas and words from many content creators usually around a central topic and insufficiency citing them or mis- citing them

1. Graphic Plagiarism:

Here , images , graphs, and other creative pixels are taken without the consent of the creator or source.

1. Plagiarism by accident:

this happens when you publish content that's already been published before.

How to avoid plagiarism

1. Always share cite links that helped you whenever you write an article also helping readers that want to read further.

2. Ensure you source graphic images that are not your own .

3. Do not bash certain authors of any foreign articles on Steem and use quotation marks when what is said is not your own . Politeness is pertinent.

4. Do not use an entire platform's link without reference to the specific article image or text.
