Hello there, everyone! How have you guys been? Trust you are all great?
So, now that I've done my achievement 1 and 2 tasks which was done few weeks ago, I'm going to devote some time today to completing my achievement 3, which is all about plagiarism.
WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's expressions, or ideas as one's own unique work.
It's also known as stealing someone's else work without acknowledging or crediting the original source. As a result, plagiarism is considered intellectual theft, and it is illegal to entirely copy another's work without crediting the original owner.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
Self plagiarism.
Direct plagiarism.
Accidental plagiarism.
Self plagiarism: Plagiarism of this form is especially common in the educational field. It occurs when a student plagiarizes his or her own work and utilizes it without permission for multiple lecturers' projects.
Direct plagiarism: This sort of plaigiraism occurs when you copy someone else's work word for word also know as "copy and paste" without citing the original source.
Accidental plagiarism: This sort of plagiarism happens when someone forgets to cite or misquotes the source from which the content was obtained; it wasn't done on purpose, which is why it's called accidental plagiarism.
HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
- Make sure you credit and cited the source properly
- If you are using an image, make sure it is copyright free and the source is completely cited.
- Make use of pliagrism checkers like Grammarly, small tool checker and so on
